  1. "The rightful heir" When Ned changed Robert's will in Season 1, I thought it was for Stannis or maybe Gendry. Do you think it was for Jon? Had Ned lived and gotten back to Winterfell or the wall before Jon took his vows, he would have been the heir and could have claimed the throne, or tried to. (Y'all probably thought of this ages ago but it just came to me tonight.)

Is it me or in the books dragonriding for the first time is not so easy?

Yes! That was a major theme in the Fire and Blood book. It took many years for rider AND dragon to get comfortable riding together and they grew up together (dragon egg was placed in child's crib). A few people died hopping on adult dragons for first time.

I felt soooo  bad for Sam right there. But I do like the question he asked Jon at the end re: Jon giving up his crown and would Dany do the same. It really made me think. Like not to hate on Dany but she's been so focused on the crown and Iron Throne as an end result that I'm not sure if she would do the same.

    But man. Poor Sam.

I find it hard to believe that Sam wouldn't know about his dad and brother being gone after all this time.

Arya fought in a style Brienne was completely unfamiliar with. Brienne was also holding back to begin with. Arya also learned her lesson fighting Sandor and do didn't try stabbing an armored opponent. She evaded until she saw an opening.  I didn't find it anymore ridiculous than when she changes her face.  The girl had a training from Hell and is now a badass with a Valyrian steel dagger. I also suspect Brienne will be more wary when they duel again.

Agreed! Loved this scene. Arya ia smaller and swifter than Brienne and she knows how to move. Seeing her hold needle behind her back reminded me of her dancing lessons with Syrio Forel back in season 1.

The intensity of seeing likable characters fighting against each other. I do believe this is the first battle where this happens; I didn't want Bronn to kill Drogon (and Dany) but at the same time I didn't want him to die, either; I didn't want Jaime to kill Dany, but at the same I didn't want him to die either.

I felt exactly the same! Eager for Bron to get that arrow flying but not wanting it to hit its target.

How many men and giants died because Sansa kept her secret about the Vale?

Maybe she didn't know they would make it in time? Or that they were actually coming? I'm thinking, geographically, the Knights of the Vale would have been coming from the south and Jon's army from the north. And Sansa was with Jon's army so how did she hook up with the knights and littlefinger?

if...Littlefinger marries Sansa..he becomes ...what exactly

I don't think she will marry him... Sansa has finally gotten smart about things and now that the Vale helped win this battle, she doesn't need them or Littlefinger. In the previews when he says "I thought you know what I wanted..." presumably marriage... she will probably laugh... or gag.

  8. I honestly was expecting Jon to die after Mel's little pep talk ("maybe you're just alive today to die")... did you guys think he was protected by something (the Lord of Light?) at the begining of that battle? Everything was just flying past him. It was surreal...

  9. During that awful scene with the Sparrow telling Marjory she needs to have sex with the King... did any of your significant others take the opportunity to remind you of your "duty?"       ***sigh***

Theon in Volantis?  Where is this.

Looked like it. Think they'll meet up with Dany by the end of the season? Trying to recall last Theon-Tyrion meeting since they may need to help break the ice...
