I LOVED that Tormund was making eyes at Brienne. This IS a guy who claims he is Husband to Bears. The Bear and the Maiden Fair indeed!

7/10. I thought the first half was excellent, especially the pacing (not as much jumping around to check in with every single characters as in some past premieres) but I didn't care for the second half. I admittedly was pretty peeved by the events in Dorne but that was more for my love of the characters in the books rather than the decision of the show. From the show POV, I understand it: way too may characters and plot lines to make everything work. The ending to me was a WTF moment but not in a good way. I understand the shock value but I thought it was a poor choice because it left Jon in limbo, so to speak, and he's who most people tuned in to see.

Do you understand that the reason they had no food is because their supplies were burned? Do you understand that they didn't have time to build siege engines or forage because the Bolton sortied out on horse while Stannis had lost half his men and almost all his horse? This was Stannis being unable to bend. Davos had urged him to go back to Castle Black when the supplies were destroyed. He refused to go back to the Wall because if he did that, he would be "The King Who Ran".

Nice dodge and hyperbole but it still doesn't cover that you bashed the show for having too many cliffhangers when the book had more.

You do realize that A Dance With Dragons actually had MORE clifffhangers? The series actually resolved the Battle of Winterfell.

I gave it an 8. Didn't like Dorne all season and it ended badly, IMHO. I dislike cliffhangers but actually, ADwD is really one big cliffhanger after another. I loved (yet hated watching it) Jon's assassination and got a kick out of the Benjen misdirect. Cersei's walk of shame was effective because it made me feel the same way as the book did...I felt sorry for her.

No. I usually read on Twitter how awesome the show is but on here the show is the worst thing ever and GRRM hates D&D. It's amusing. :p

It's amusing reading the howls of outrage on here compared to Twitter. I thought the Benjen hype was a nice swerve that would make pro wrestling proud.

Yep, It's like what Davos told Stannis off-screen in ASoS: That he had the cart before the horse. He was trying to win the throne to save the realm when he should have been trying to save the realm to win the the throne. Of course this probably put him over the moral event horizon and I think "Black Iron" Stannis will soon break because he cannot bend.

I was replying in the Stannis thread but it got locked so I guess I will post it here: I agree. There might be a dire situation that needs a solution. Like say, the Wall falling and the Others flooding into the North. Remember in ADwD when Bran sees a human sacrifice through the eyes of the Hearttree? Foreshadowing? Now what would the sacrifice be for? Perhaps a stone dragon to combat the Others? Some other spell to combat the great blizzards? A lot can happen in the next book. And as to Shireen being at the Wall and Stannis at Winterfell...The Lord Commander was just assassinated and the Nights Watch and the Wildlings have begun fighting. Do people think that Selyse and Melissandre are just going to stay at Castle Black? No, they will flee to the only place they can. To Winterfell. Finally, I disagree with the people saying that this was totally out of character for Stannis. What did Mel say of Stannis? That he is a righteous man. Was this the "right" thing to do? To burn one girl so that thousands could survive? Sort of like killing a few "dozen" at dinner rather than to kill 10,000 men in battle. As opposed to not capturing or murdering 3 bastards instead causing a war that killed thousands, including yourself and some of your own family. Oh, Ned... Don't get me wrong, I would rather die than do something like that to my own daughter. (just look at my second quote in the auto signature below) Heavy is the head who wears the crown.

1. It escalated QUICKLY! :p 2. The snow storm and the white walkers themselves were putting out flames. The walker Jon killed made the hut fire die away. That was a tremendous episode. I don't care that it spoiled the valyrian steel kills Others. That was just awesome. So awesome was the ending that it completely overshadowed a really nice banter between Dany and Tyrion.

10. Almost a 9 for the corny Sand Snakes scene (sexy, yes, but corny) but Tyrion meeting Dany and Cersei's fall pushed it into a 10. Also LOVED Diana Rigg's scenes. eta: typo

9/10. My week long mourning of Ser Barristan disappeared as this episode had me absolutely glued to the set. Only thing keep me from giving it a 10 is the Miranda storyline. Meh.

I've suspected that R+L=J will be revealed next season when Bran returns. I don't really think they need to introduce Howland Reed. Meera might know or Bloodraven.

Sigh. Mance dying didn't bother me a bit but this hurts. I can see why they did it...Jorah and Tyrion will be taking his place. Ser Barristan only became a POV because GRRM needed a set of eyes in Meereen once Dany flies off with Drogon. It still bums me out big time.

And the actress would have maybe one scene to say don't take vengeance and then she would be gone. That was book Ellaria. I like the actress and so I like that they have re-written her to want vengeance.

As someone who has chronic pain every day, pain CAN make you angry and petulant. Another thing is that one can try not to look in constant pain but it's written all over one's face. He had dark circles under his eyes, a tell-tale sign of chronic pain because it's your body's way of telling your it is fatigued even if you had a full night's sleep.
