  1. <Mod> I've switched the title to include game spoilers. There is another thread for only show spoilers <Mod>
  2. I really liked the beginning. Going right off the bat with what the cause of the z-word apocalypse is a novel idea instead of dragging it out forever. I also thought the two leads were excellent. I hadn't realized that Bella Ramsey is the same age as my daughter: 19. She can definitely pass as an early teenager.
  3. That was great. It was every thing I hoped it would be and I got my music! I had read that the composer from the game was scoring the show as well. Can't wait for next week!
  4. The beginning of the game is what really got me. When a certain character dies and this music plays. I hope they include it in the series.
  5. My favorite episode so far and it features a theme GRRM is known for: factions within a faction.
  6. I think they are talking about what Ser Criston did at the wedding, not having sex with the Princess. I'm wondering if he actually stays in the KG or if the Queen speaks up for him and he becomes her sworn sword. He then could of course re-join later.
  7. Yeah, you are right. I could have sworn that C-137 was the Cronenberg Earth but it's not, it is Show Rick's reality.
  8. I think Evil Rick is actually Rick C-137. Show Rick said that he tracked Evil Rick back to C-137 and stayed hoping to ambush him. Show Rick froze everyone in his actual reality but forgot to prevent them from aging!
  9. Yup, you are right. I re-watched and Jerry actually figures it first :The Jerryboree, the Jerry daycare from Season 2, ep.2 "Mortynight Run". As Rick calls it, "A deep cut". So current Jerry is Show Jerry #3. Jerry #1 was Cronenberg Jerry that gets killed by Evil Rick in the stinger. Jerry #2 was lost at the Jerryboree but came back when Rick accidentally reset realities. He's the one that let out the alien that ends up assimilating everything, including Jerry #2. Jerry #3 is the one that has been having some character development, including telling off his old family that is still as dysfunctional as the pre-separation Smith family was.
  10. Rick and Morty are back! The big reveal, from a pretty good episode, is that Evil Rick (the one that murdered Show Rick's wife and daughter) was originally from the early season 1 reality: Cronenberg Earth. That means that Evil Rick is Show Morty's real grandfather. BTW, does anyone remember which episode Show Jerry changed? I was confused when they said he was from a different reality from the rest of them.
  11. A few more... "Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened" - Terry Pratchett (Boy do I feel that way!) “Cats were the gangsters of the animal world, living outside the law and often dying there. There were a great many of them who never grew old by the fire.” -Stephen King (we adopted two kittens last year when we found a litter under our shed. The other 3 have been safely adopted) My below quote was my mantra while going through a divorce years ago.
  12. "Show me a hero and I will write you a tragedy" --F. Scott Fitzgerald
  13. The land doesn't just close up shop when a House becomes extinct. The Reach went from Gardner to Tyrell during the Conquest. I won't disagree that Dorne as a whole has been handled badly. As far as their forces, a good portion of them died during one of Euron Greyjoy's miraculous attacks. Seriously, that's getting really tiresome. But I digress...it would take some time for the power vacuum in Dorne to fill. I was actually pleased that it got a mention. I suspect their forces may be a chekhov's gun in the next episode. Hammer and the Anvil?
  14. Why are people upset that they mentioned there's a new Prince of Dorne? If there was one place that would get it's shit together to pick a new ruler and defy Cersei, it's DORNE.
  15. Yeah I'm not sure that is saying what you think it is. He's going back to her and...? He knows what Dany plans for her and I think he'd rather have her die quickly at his hand than slowly in dungeons. I'll happily eat crow if he isn't the one to kill her. Maybe Arya will get her like the green eyes theory goes.
  16. I don't think he's on his way for a joyful reunion. Valonqar. That episode was a kick in the balls. It actually was more heartwrenching than the Long Night. It also reminds me of what GRRM talked about with their being factions within factions. This is going to be that bittersweet GRRM also talked about.
  17. No. I thought the same but both he and Drogon appeared in next week's preview.
  18. Both dragons are alive. They both appeared in next week's preview.
  19. Hah. did it? I was gone most of the day and hadn't seen that. It's the episode title on my DVR and all of the reviews are calling it that.
  20. For those wondering about title of the episode (since HBO continues to not give ANYTHING away before the ep. airs), According to The AV Club it was titled "A Knight of the Seven Kingdom". Hmmm...that title sounds familiar.
  21. A few other things... Before the season, I knew Sam would give Heartsbane to someone else since it was too important to not be used. I thought it would be the Hound but now it really was obvious that it would be Ser Jorah. They have the connection with the Old Bear and Sam healed him. It was a nice moment, as was Ser Jorah and Lady Lyanna Mormont. Dany's reaction to Jon's news was quite telling and could reinforce Sam's question as to would she give up the throne to save her people. But again, the choice of the Jenny of Oldstones song is VERY interesting. Prince Duncan gave up the throne for the woman he loved. Would Dany give up sole rule of the Seven Kingdoms for the man she loved? Her reaction to Jon's news would say no. She's angry. But seeing the person you love in mortal danger next week could change that.
  22. Why would they be? https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Jenny's_song Later, while the brotherhood waits for Merrett Frey to arrive at Oldstones with his brother’s ransom, Tom may have been singing some lyrics of the song while sitting on the sepulchre of King Tristifer IV Mudd. Merrett finds the music is soft and sad, and he thinks of the song's lyrics,
  23. The Jenny of Oldstones song REALLY got me in the feels and it sets up some interesting parallels. A prince who loved a girl so much he gave up the throne for her. Hmmmm. This episode was about forgiveness as we saw many characters come face to face with former enemies and put aside old scores for the greater good. There was a lot of heartwarming in this episode but in the back of my mind it felt VERY bittersweet. I think it's obvious most of them will be dead by the end of next week's episode. Grey Worm and Missendei practically said they were one day away from retirement.
  24. I've suspected that but there was not a single hint. Not that I was expecting a dragon tattoo on his ass but I thought there could be some kind of foreshadowing. A throwaway conversation about the last time The Golden Company came westward during the War of the Ninepenny Kings or something about Ser Barristan killing Maelys the Monstrous. Maybe next week or maybe never.
  25. Yep, the little boy was a stand-in for Arya. She even smirks in memory. They also played a similar version of the royal sounding Baratheon music The new opening credits were gorgeous. I will have to go back and do some serious pausing to take them all in. A lot of the official trailer came from this episode, Jon, Dany and the dragons in particular. The dragons themselves looked a bit different as well. They seemed to have more color which I applaud. I've always disliked the dingy colors they and frankly the series as a whole have had. Rhaegal in particular looked better. While this was a set-up episode, a lot still happened. Tensions are being rightfully built. While I disagree with the Stark girls attitude toward Jon and Dany (a large zombie army approaching isn't the time to play game of thrones) I do understand their issues.
