  1. At the top of the screen should be some numbers you can click on.
  2. Yep right at 1:02. I'm sure she isn't really using him as a shield - it wouldn't make any sense for the writers to write it that way, just appeared that way to me. Probably she has her hand on his shoulder as he uses the same arm to push her out of the way giving the appearance she actually turned him into the sword thrust. I agree though Jorah went out like a boss.
  3. Right I'm talking about after the trench was lit & Dany could see them. Why didn't she torch the others on the other side of the trench before they started laying down over the fire so the rest could get through
  4. I gave it an 8. The highest I've rated an episode in quite a while. There were somethings I didn't like but there were some really great things too. Things I liked: Absolutely stellar performance by John Bradley. He was great. I usually don't like the "call backs" to previous episodes but "stick them with the pointy end" was great The Hounds panic attack & coming out of it to help Arya Arya - I read a lot of complaints about her this episode but I enjoyed her. She is tough. But I am admittedly a fan girl so maybe I have a biased opinion. At any rate I thought Maisie was great & found her parts reasonably written Sansa & Tyrion - they were great at the end & the look between them when Sansa first comes to the crypts. I love when a message can be conveyed on screen with no words. Mel lighting the trench - very intense moment. Theon - Wow. "You are a good man, thank you" Theon's face hit me right in the feels. Bravo. Lyanna Mormont - I haven't been a huge fan of hers. I liked her when she was originally introduced but since then have found her kind of bratty, but when that giant crushed her little girl bones & she still managed to stab him in the eye all was forgiven. She is one bad little girl. Things I didn't like: Mel lighting the trenches - I know I just said I did like it & I did the actual lighting but for shits sake Mel you have an army of dead all around you & a wall of people dying trying to hold them back you want to, I don't know, hurry a little? She meanders down toward the trench like she is taking a Sunday stroll! Run damn it! So maybe someone better versed in battle strategy can explain this to me but after the trenches were lit & Dany & Drogon could see where they were WHY IN THE WORLD did she not start torching the fuckers?! Everyone just stood around & waited for them to get through the fire & granted there wasn't much everyone else could do but... Pardon me ma'am think you could stop pissing around & help humanity survive for a few minutes?? Ghost - WHERE THE HELL IS GHOST?? He runs to fight the others with the Dothraki & then what??? & Why is he shrinking? I'm a Brienne fan but I swore if she screamed one more time while swinging her sword I was going to gouge my own eyes out. Enough is enough - it got annoying. Anyway over all I think it was a good episode. I can't help but feel like The George will kill off more people & some of which we have grown to love but I'm not mad at the show for that - I would love for them all to survive. The parts where you couldn't tell who or what was fighting or even if they were fighting. That was pretty stupid. Soo.. who was the NK? What did he want? Why did he want Bran? What even is Bran? I guess those are unimportant answers to D&D but thankfully I lowered my expectations of this slow enough that I will live with it & hope beyond hope for Winds to come soon. One more thing - did it look like Dany turned Jorah into the sword there towards the end or was it just me? It was like she used him for a shield!
  5. Thanks! I don't know how I missed him but I'm glad he was there!
  6. I gave it a weak 7. There were some really good things this episode though. Things I liked: Arya throwing the knives & Gendry deciding he had better start making her weapon Jaime & Brienne! Absolutely great. Gave me chills. Bran saying "The things we do for love" he's a very unsettling little fella. Bran telling Jaime if he hadn't pushed him out of the window Jaime would still be who he was & Bran would still be Brandon Stark. Pod's song. That whole scene was nice really. Things I didn't like: No Ghost or mention of him again. Arya & The Hound - they are two of my favorites & their on screen chemistry was amazing in the past but tonight it fell flat. Like they put them together just to show them together. Jaime & Tyrion - they are both great actors so I feel like the blame lies with bad writing. The same old jokes etc. Things I'm on the fence about: Arya & Gendry's sex scene - in the book they have chemistry but on the show not so much. If I just think of them as book Gendry & Arya I don't mind the sex. Dany jumping to "if that's true you would be the last surviving male Targaryen & give you a claim to the IT" I don't take issue with Dany not immediately being worried about Jon being her nephew & their sexual relations because she wouldn't be bothered by that. Maybe Jon would but not her. My issue with her jumping to that is that the show is making her out to be obsessed with the IT. Dany started out only wanting to go home & while she has come a long way from the girl she used to be I still think her first thoughts would be of Rhaegar & knowing he wasn't a rapist & I don't think it will escape her that the IT hardly matters atm.
  7. Gave it a solid 5. +1 for the opening credits, they looked amazing +1 for Tormund's "My eyes have always been blue!" +3 for Jaime staring at Bran at the end. That was good. The rest was rushed with no feeling. There has been little to no time developing Jon & Dany's relationship but tada! Sansa even knows Jon loves her. The actual dragon riding was cool to watch but the lead up to it should have been more intense. The reunions were ridiculous which makes me very sad because there was some great potential there with Jon/Arya, Arya/The Hound, Sansa/The Hound, Arya/Gendry. All of these have on screen chemistry & could have made the show. Cersei & Euron are blah. Apparently Ghost has just fallen off the face of the Earth & not even Jon wonders where he is?
  8. I agree with all of this. I've learned not to get too disappointed anymore though. A few things I did like - I'm not typically fond of the whole women being caddy thing but Dany's "Whatever they want." Cracked me up. Tormund - My eyes have always been blue!! I like cold hearted bitch Sansa much more than Lady Sansa. Favorite part of the episode was the Bran & Jaime stare at the end. Jaime is a great actor & made that scene. All in all though it was rushed with no content if that makes sense. I might excuse it if it was a little rushed but alot happened. But not much happened & it was rushed. The love story of Hot Pie & his hot pies was given more time to build & had more chemistry than the Jon & Dany love story & that just sucks.
  9. I completely agree & maybe my example wasn't the best one. My point was it's ok to deviate from the books as long as it fits within the context of the show. In the show the Umbers had no motivation to had over Rickon to the Boltons, in fact they had much more motivation to keep Rickon. If the show had the Karstarks hand over Rickon as revenge that would have made more sense. Or if they would have given the Umbers reason for handing over Rickon. My example about the dragons just meant that a name isn't just a name. If the show had the Umbers play the same role the Umbers played but called them Karstarks that still wouldn't have made sense. Any more than having Danaerys be called Arya. In order for it to make sense whether they are called the Umbers, Karstarks, or whatever they needed a motivation for handing over Rickon. As it stands the show had the Umbers hand over Rickon for shock value. Maybe that doesn't bother some people & that is absolutely fine, but it does bother others. Pointing that out doesn't mean the person is being overly critical of the show, at least in my opinion.
  10. This is a show based on the books though. The motivation for a characters tv counterparts don't have to be the same but to be a decent show they have to make sense. Besides what other posters have said regarding holding the last male heir to the Winterfell, the show didn't set it up to make any sense. Yes, they could have used the Karstarks instead of the Umbers- it still wouldn't have made it necessarily a smart move but it would have given them a logical motive. There is any number of ways they could have presented a logical motive for the Umbers to hand over Rickon but they didn't , which is what people are complaining about. As to the "To appease book readers maybe they should have had a Karstark hand him over but what's in a name really?" By that logic why always let Danaerys have dragons? Just call her Arya & then Arya can have dragons. It doesn't make any sense. I for one am not upset when the show deviates from the books, especially now when we have no books to deviate from. I get irritated when the show plot makes no sense, is completely out of character for what that character would do, has plot holes, etc. This isn't being overly critical of the show at all IMO.
  11. I agree so much. I enjoyed the season right up until that point. There were still enjoyable parts after that but definetely a huge down slope.
  12. I couldn't disagree more. I felt the chemistry was almost palpable. The look Danaerys gave when Jon said he was going beyond the wall told all. I agree Emilia has not always acted the best but I think that says more to the direction she has been given than it does to her acting abilities. Either way I think she does magnificent when not having to be "badass" Kit is a good actor IMO also. He is meant to be brooding which I feel he pulls off very well. There is also a multitude of reasons they should like each other. Not only because they are both attractive (but that does help) but also Jon likes woman that are not the stereotypical "lady" as evidenced by his liking Ygritte. Danaerys needs someone who doesn't fawn & fall all over her, someone loyal to a fault like Jon. Also together they have the best chance of conquering Westeros.
  13. So I tried rating the way some people do by adding points for what I liked & subtracting them for what I didn't but I ended up in the negative & since I don't feel like it sucked that bad I'm just gonna stick to the way I always rate them. Things I liked: - Some of the dialogue, specifically between Sandor & Brienne, Sandor talking to Gregor, Tyrion & Bronn. It was purely for entertainment though, it did nothing for the plot unless you believe The Hound talking to his big bro is foreshadowing the Clegane Bowl - which it very well may be. - Arya & Sansa: I was frustrated with this whole plot & felt like it was only there to add screen time for WF BUT I liked the way it turned out. I hoped D&D were not having LF fool the Stark's again but didn't put it past them. I thought LF didn't act the greatest but loved Arya & Sansa. - the WW reveal - Cersei being stunned was nice. - Sam when Bran told him he is the 3ER. "Oh!... I don't know what that is." - Theon: I think having him turn back into Reek was idiotic but I got chills when he continued to take his ass whooping & get back up to eventually win the fight. Could have done without the reminder that he has no man hood though. - Jon being his "fathers" son even though he isn't really - Dany & Jon: I really, really thought I wasn't going to like the two of them together but I think D&D did it well. It was subtle, as slow moving as it could be in this short season. I liked that they said nothing to each other before going to "bed" Things I didnt like: - the meeting to reveal the WW. I enjoyed the actual reveal but I feel like an opportunity was missed here. I was really looking forward to some good dialogue between Dany & Cersei & there was none. - Tyrion & Jaime you couldn't even tell the two of them had any affection for each other. It was dry & rushed. - Tyrion going in to talk to Cersei. Why would she not kill him? Maybe because she has 2 dragons out side? I don't know but the conversation seemed to add nothing & I usually really love the two of them together - Cersei in general. Lena is amazing but really came off as flat & uninterested, unemotional this episode. - The big reveal being... the same exact big reveal of last season?! Wtf??? I don't mind Bran telling Sam about Jon & adding his real name & the fact that Rhaegar & Lyanna were married was nice but that shouldn't have been this seasons "surprise" because it was last seasons "surprise" I would have accepted it much better if this season was Bran finally telling Jon what he knows. - Bran not knowing R&L were married? - No Ghost this entire season?! - No reunion with Jon/Arya/Bran Overall I wasn't completely disappointed & rated a 6 which is on the low side for me.
  14. I sure hope this is what is going on. If not I think I might cry.
  15. I'm in a much better mood today but still am not liking this episode. Last night I would have voted 1. Today I managed to get to 4. +1 for Tormund - he acted the hell out of this episode. +1 for some of the dialogue from the A-team. It was ridiculous that they were there but they did make me smile a few times. +1 for an Ice dragon - again absolutely ridiculous how it happened but it looked cool. +1 for Emilia & Kit in the boat scene.
  16. Exactly! Let us not forget that a mere 24 ish hours before that a 5-10 foot wide crack in the ice stopped the wights in their tracks, but wrapping chains around a dragon lying on the bottom of the lake? No problem! Wtf?!
  17. I think I'm too irritated to vote. Right now I would vote this the lowest episode ever. Maybe after my foul mood has passed I will reconsider. This episode was full of BS. The whole idea of going to capture a wight to bring to Cersei is idiotic but I tried to let that go & enjoy the show. Things I didn't like: The whole WF plot. What even is going on here?! Are Sansa & Arya the dumbest people on the planet? Sansa knows exactly what LF is capable of but all the sudden is confiding in him? She asks Arya how she got the letter but when Arya doesn't answer that's it? No more thought is given to where it came from? It would take very little thought for Sansa to figure out it came from LF. And I understand Arya being angry but after everything the both of them have been through they can't even have a normal conversation? Is Sansa trying to get Brienne killed?! Stupid. & where in the hell is Bran?! He can't spew some of that omnipotent knowledge to save his sisters? Ugh. It honestly just left me confused. Why didn't Sansa just say fuck Cersei? She doesnt have to answer her invitation. & why did Arya give her the knife? Hopefully D&D have a masterful plan going on here & I will have to eat my words. I'm over worrying about the teleporting so I'll leave that be but the whole beyond the wall scene was stupid too. A big, giant, undead bear attacks them, chews on Thoros' intestines for a few minutes while the Hound stares & everyone else does nothing until Jorah runs up & stabs it with a little tiny knife & *poof* it's dead & a little whiskey & fire & Thoros is up walking again?! No way. Why couldn't the others just swim through the water? Why are they too stupid to know they are getting hit in the face with rocks but smart enough to realize the water has refrozen? Maybe the NK was controlling them then I guess? Jon in subzero water for minutes not only survives but then rides a horse, while wet, clear back to the wall. Impossible. Also Dany & co had already left Jon for dead we didn't need another left for dead scene with Jon & Benjen. Then Dany is soooo worried about Jon after she left him that she almost can't bear to leave the wall BUT doesn't think to go look for him? Fly around & look if u think he may still be alive? Why in the world would Dany make Tyrion her hand if she always thinks he is choosing his families side? What is the purpose of a hand if no one listens to them or weighs their advice? Where the eff is Ghost?! He is bound to Jon & hasn't even been mentioned since last season iirc. Things I liked: Not much. Some of the dialogue from the A-team beyond the wall - not because it helps the plot or because it was written well, mostly because some of it was funny & I enjoy the actors. Dany & Jon at the end. Emilia does much better showing emotion & sensitivity than being demanding/commanding. The Ice dragon: I guess I liked it. I want to be excited about it but I'm so frustrated over the rest of the episode I just can't be.
  18. I don't get why people keep saying this. Why would Sam care about Rhaegar getting an annulment? He is looking for info on how to beat the WW's. Gilly mentioning an old Targaryen heir having an anullment has nothing to do with that. As far as Sam knows Jon is the bastard son of Ned Stark. He has absolutely no reason to believe otherwise. Had Gilly got to read far enough to tell Sam the name of the woman Rhaegar was setting his wife aside for it may have sparked a slight interest only for the last name Stark otherwise it is nothing that pertains to him or anything he is looking for ( that he knows of)
  19. Right. I wasnt sure if Maggi told her the # of children she would have in the show. At any rate like the poster above said this means she can't have another child. Either she miscarries, has a still born, dies while pregnant, or is lying about being pregnant. Or I suppose there is always the possibility the prophecy was wrong. The birth of a fourth child would make Cersei realize the prophecy could have been avoided. That may really drive her crazy.
