How would you rate episode 407?

a 9 for me, and it's not even a debate. This reminded me of one of my favorite episodes from season 3, second sons. GoT has always been for me all about the dialog and character interactions. I am never mad when they skip a battle scene, like in season 2. Battles in this show don't do it for me, It's the way the characters interact with each other with the fantastic score in the background that do it. In my opinion, this was my favorite episode of the season so far. The Tyrion and Bronn scene- I have been waiting for this scene and it was remarkable. Finally, a Brianne and Pod scene I actually liked, and Hotpie! The Vale scenes, what a way to end a show. Tyrion scenes, as always he kills it. The only reason it is not a 10 is because of one reason. The Mountain scene was so lame to me, anyone who has watched this show knows what the mountain is all about and surprise, it's a totally different actor..again. It just seemed so out of place. Loved every other scene is this episode, I even enjoyed the Dragonstone scene. The actress that plays the red woman is just so captivating, one of the reasons second sons is one of my all time favorites. I'm going to have to take a mini hiatus on this forum because I don't want to know what happens in the next episode and people always like to blurt out random things to show that they are book readers. I love Tyrion and I like Prince Oberyn, so there is now way I'm going to take a chance on this being spoiled. All I know is the last few episodes this season are going to be epic. There are only four episodes in this series so far that I have given a 10. Rains, Baleor, Golden Crown. and Blackwater. This episode was a strong 9 for me and ranks up there with second sons and Prince of Winterfell for my favorites of the non 10s.

    [No Spoilers] EP407 Discussion

The thing about it is non of my friends are really into this show. I have tried to get them hooked on it but they don't wanna give it a chance. It's a double edged sword. I want to talk about and get more insight into the show but everywhere I look someone spoils something, even inadvertently. I only check the non-spoiler threads and the episode review threads but even those sometimes get spoiled by someone saying what's going to happen next episode. I had the "only cat" spoiled already because someone mentioned it way back in that episode thread what happened in the books. It kills me but at the same time I really like discussing this show, I just can't do it with any of my friends.
  3. One of my favorite of the season. I give it an 8, and the only reason it is not a 10 is the total afterthought Dreadfort scene. I'm sorry, the whole scene at the Dread was hot garbage. It felt like they added the montage at the end of season 3 with Yara coming for Theon and the whole thing was over in a few minutes. I understand, Theon has stockholm in the worst way but the buildup just to show us how bad he had stockholm was just terrible. The last scene with Yara saying her brother was already dead just sealed it for me. In my opinion the worst buildup to a scene in the story ever, I felt like I was watching something totally different. I'm going to move on but words can't explain how terrible that whole scene was to me. I actually wish they would have just left that out altogether. Everything else in the episode minus that was a 10. The scene with the dragon ascending in Mareen, totally awesome. Dany figuring out just what it takes to rule over thousands of people, awesome. Stannis and Davos in Bravos, totally awesome. The trial scene, totally awesome. Not worried at all because as much as they kill characters in this show I don't fathom any way possible they will kill off the best actor and best character in it, period. This would be the best episode of the season for me if not for the first 10 minutes.

How would you rate episode 405?

Going to give this one an 8, slightly above last week. The best thing to me not being a book reader is that after watching this show for 4 seasons now I have come to expect the unexpected. The last few minutes when Locke was carrying Bran off I was on the edge of my seat, I had no idea what was going to happen. Any episode with the amazing Charles Dance gets high marks right from the top. Cersei and Margery. I expected that at some point Cersei would show her true colors but instead we see a mother in pain and vulnerable, such a fantastic job. The big reveal with Littlefinger. He has always struck me as the most scumbag character in this show and boy did he not disappoint. The only thing I didn't really like in this episode was Brianne and Pod. I just thought it felt forced and compared to the rest of the episode it seemed out of place. Finally the scene at Crasters. I realize they can't show too many battles in this show, be it for the sake of budget or simply for character advancement. I was happy with the end of it and glad they put a little bit of time into it then just a fade to black and aftermath. I envy the book readers for seeing more of the vision then us show watchers but at the same time seeing the things unfold for the first time on screen has not been matched in my lifetime. The best part is more is left to come.

How would you rate episode 404?

I gave it a solid 7. I really dig episodes directed by Michelle Mcclaren. Last season second sons was my personal favorite episode. The scene with Stanis and Sir Davros talking in the dungeon was one of my favorite scenes in the entire run of the show. This one had decent similar dialogue scenes I enjoyed. Jaime and Briann was a very good scene as was Jaime and Tyrion. Every scene with Jon was good in this one. Kit has really stepped his game up and it shows. Sansa and LF had a decent scene as well I thought I agree with many here that the Crastor's keep scenes were just over the top and seemed to drag for a long time. Karl is a crazy guy I get it, but just hearing him rant over and over again got old real quick. Liking the Night's Watch dynamic. The look on the acting Lord Commander's face when the men started standing up was priceless. Amazing how actors in this show can convey such an array of emotion with one look. Going to stick with the 7, would have been higher with some more Lord Tywin and Lord Bolton. Of all the characters in this show, both of these actors steal every single scene they are in. Not a book reader so sorry if I butchered some names.
