  1. I saw it...it is very stunning in scale. Love that we see the White Walkers in the fray, as well.
  2. Because it's not the whole picture. You can't say "the story doesn't make sense" when you don't watch the whole story. That's like me reading every 5th chapter in AGOT and saying "God, nothing here is making any sense at all!" Nor would I have the right to say "this is the best story ever!" It's not about giving a negative or positive review...it's about giving any review whatsoever without all of the information. If you watch the entire episode and feel the need to rip it to shreds, then do so. But don't expect others to take your opinion seriously if you watch only a few minutes of something before ripping it to shreds. There's a reason I don't comment on forums for Supernatural- and it's because I only ever watched a few minutes of it. It wouldn't exactly be fruitful to start going on that forum every week after watching only a few minutes of the episode and declaring it crap, because people wouldn't really take me seriously if I did.
  3. To me, Jon being legitimate explains the past more than it predicts the future. I don't think he'll become king because he's the heir to the Targaryen throne. That's not how this story has ever worked and I don't expect it to start working that way now. But it helps to explain why things happened in the past to help shape Jon's future, like what happened at the ToJ and what happened between Rhaegar and Lyanna. In any case, we'll see eventually, I'm sure. If it does have some significance to the story, Martin will be sure to include it.
  4. XD Well, I doubt it, myself...but I love the fact that there's even a possibility, lol. Optimism is more fun than pessimism, anyway ;)
  5. Yeah, she knows generalities...she doesn't know specifics yet. I hope Tyrion educates her on that at some point. Wonder if he'll figure out who Jon is in the process?
  6. Although I will say that their opening 'credit' for their channel was wildly confusing and doesn't fit. I was like "Why on earth are they playing Utada Hikaru for this??"
  7. Honestly, I like the idea that they don't go in the water, because if they can, why would the Wall stop them from invading Westeros? That's something I didn't get about the books.
  8. Zombies are depicted very differently across the genre. The type that GoT has is very different from most zombies, and they are nothing like TWD zombies, which was my point. TWD zombies are slow, stupid (after season 1), uncoordinated and easily killed. Basically, the entire premise of that show is incredibly unbelievable considering just how easy the zombies are to defend against. The zombies we saw in GoT are fast, relentless and being controlled by intelligent beings. Their only weaknesses are fire and being ripped to shreds, but short of that, they can't be stopped. That's a very scary combination.
  9. TBF, the zombies in TWD are nothing like what we saw in Hardhome. The only real comparison I can think of is WWZ zombies.
  10. Well, except for all those wights with arrows in them running around. Like that clear shot of a sight with the arrow through his head. It was clear that they were "killing" the wights, just slowing them down. I mean, the scene ended in a massacre.
  11. Mine is now: 1. Hardhome 2. Watchers on the Wall 3. Baelor 4. Rains of Castamere 5. Kissed by Fire This episode was that good to me. Samsa finding out her brothers were alive, Theon finally telling someone that, Dany and Tyrion meeting, Cersei getting bitchslapped with a spoon, and the appearance of White Walkers and their army as well as the confirmation that Valyrian steel kills WW...this is what I've been waiting for since I finished ADWD. This is what I wanted from that story. So it has to be my new #1.
  12. ...except that he does. LMAO, what? That's the way he talks, and it's nothing like the fake gravelly voice that Christian Bale uses. I've found nothing at all to criticize in his acting this season (unlike seasons past), and he's had some of the best scenes in the past two seasons and lived up to them. That's killing it.
  13. Different opinions for different people. Never liked Blackwater nearly as much as the people around here do. I enjoyed this episode and WotW much, much more than I ever enjoyed Blackwater.
  14. Jon Snow's my favorite character, but up until the past two seasons, I haven't really thought much of Kit's acting. Last season he was on the upturn, and this season he's absolutely killing it. He's very, very far from what he was in season one (where it seemed that he could never close his mouth and he had a constant expression of confusion). While I enjoy Cersei, Tyrion, Tywin, Littlefinger and the other more 'cerebral' characters, I think Jon Snow adds a much needed element of stoicism and internal turmoil to balance out the more open emotions of the other characters. It creates a nice balance and contrast.
  15. Hardhome >> Watchers on the Wall >>>>>>>>>>>>> Blackwater
  16. Or this episode is getting so many tens because it was one of the best episodes of the show to date.
  17. Our tv has no issue with it. Neither does my Macbook Pro (with the retina display), but my husband's laptop would have problems with it.
  18. It's all subjective. I'm sure those same people (who are NOT necessarily non-book readers) would find it insane that you give such consistently low ratings. Basically, it's best to worry about what you think and not what others think.
  19. 10 out of 10. Only because I can't rate it higher. The best episode of the show for me, hands down.
  20. EVERYTHING in literature happens because "the plot needed it to". This isn't remotely a criticism of anything. Why did Jon Snow have brown hair instead of silver? Because the plot needed him to. Why did Dany survive the pyre? Because the plot needed her to. So yeah...the plot needs Dany and Tyrion to meet. It will happen in the books, the show has simply beat them to it.
  21. So, is anyone else wondering if Sansa is going to have something to do with Jon finding out his parentage? I mean, think of it: 1. She learned that Jon Snow is LC of the Night's Watch; 2. She finds out about the Tourney at Harrenhal; 3. She is replacing fArya, and in the books By no means am I creating a conspiracy...it may be a complete coincidence given her situation. But it is kind of interesting, when you think about it.
  22. Had some great moments...really loved everything, beginning to end. Even the Sandsnakes were good this episode. 9/10.
  23. People are different. I can respect someone and respect their opinion but still disagree with it. If you liked the episode but others did not, that doesn't mean your opinion is wrong. An opinion is an opinion and there is no right or wrong answer.
  24. I pretty much agree with this. One or two subpar scenes don't cause me to rate the whole episode 'bad'. I rate it based on how it felt overall. I think this episode was a solid 8.
