  1. Indeed, yet judging by how Tyrion explored around the Red Keep looking for the twins and the other scenes set in the Keep later in the episode, the Red Keep magically repaired and rebuilt itself, so no funds were needed. ;-)
  2. Overall I was happy and gave it 8/10 but the crucial reunion scenes of the episode between Jon and Arya, and Jon and Sam, felt off. I just didn't see why Bran insisted Sam tell Jon the truth about his birth alone. It would have made more sense for them to tell him together.
  3. There were plenty of scenes on Dragonstone in which they could have shown the women...
  4. I assumed that too but I think it's really weird that we didn't see any Dothraki women at all this season. It wouldn't have cost much to have had a few in the background in some scenes.
  5. And a related question, who are the highly sexed Dothraki men having sex with on Dragonstone? ;-)
  6. Where are the Dothraki women and children? Did Daenerys leave them behind in Essos?
  7. 2 out of 10. This episode was the low point of the season, maybe even the entire series.
  8. The scene with Davos, Jon and Missandei was so badly written and redundant. Also, Missandei may have been born in a place where there was no marriage, but she was stolen and sold into slavery as a child and experienced cultures which did had marriage and the concept of illegitimate children. Pretty silly for a character who is as worldly and intelligent to have to ask Jon Snow why his surname isn't Stark.
  9. 9. I had to take a point off for two very stupid things: - Daenerys burning the supply wagons. - How deep was that lake near the shoreline???
  10. This bothers me too, but more in the sense that this is a world in which a woman walks out of a raging fire unscathed, beasts that were believed mythical or extinct return and many other magical things have been witnessed, but they are completely dismissive of what Jon says he has seen.
  11. 6 out of 10. I enjoyed the scenes with Cersei and Ellaria, Melissandre and Varys, Jon and Daenerys, but I had to take points off for the appalling scene between Bran and Sansa, and the ridiculous Samwell curing Jorah storyline. The scene between Olenna and Jamie wasn't terrible but it wasn't satisfying. I really wish she had told Jamie that Littlefinger took part in the murder of Joffrey. She knew he helped Cersei bring down Loras and Margaery, so it would have been a perfect way for her to exact revenge.
  12. Thank you! While I liked seeing the Frey men get what they deserved, it just didn't make any sense that the Frey women contributed about as much to the scene as the furniture did. I gave the episode 8 points. I enjoyed most of it but there were a number of flaws in the writing which could lead to plot holes in the future and some of the scenes were too long.
  13. 10/10 I was on the edge of my seat and even shed a tear or two. The battle of Meereen played out exactly as I'd hoped. I was so glad to see the other two dragons flying again. I especially loved that they showed the battle as a messy, beastly event, not a clean tactical manoeuvre we usually see. The only thing I thought was far fetched to the point of being silly, was Davos finding the wooden stag he carved for Shireen. I'm pretty sure the remains of the pyre would have been scattered by the winds and/or buried under the snow given how much time had passed since the sacrifice.
  14. 8/10 For me, the best episode of the season to date because I saw my favourite characters and hardly any of the ones in whom I have little or no interest, AND there were no annoying, nonsensical action scenes where the heroes survive in spite of billion to one odds. I was ecstatic to see the return of the Hound. I loved seeing the Queen of Thorns putting Cersei in her place, again. The scenes with Arya didn't drag on. For once a new character appeared whom I actually enjoyed: Lady Mormont. And to top it off: NO DAENERYS, EURON OR DORNE! YAY!
  15. 5/10. I enjoyed the return of Benjen and the fact that Arya showed growth and the suggestion that she's woken up to the fact that she will never be "no one" by retrieving Needle, but I had to take points off for all the scenes that were either predictable or repeated themes we've already seen many times (the Tarly family dynamics, Cersei and Jamie, Daenerys)
  16. It was a rhetorical question ;-) It's kind of you to say they don't check their previous scripts. I would call it sheer stupidity.
  17. I know, right? All the flashback scenes gave the impression that Ned was the eldest Stark boy (i.e. no Brandon). Why???
  18. 4 out of 10. I've been enjoying the season so far even though it hasn't been perfect but this episode was very poorly written and left me wondering exactly how much D&D consult GRRM in regard to plot twists. Sansa comes face to face with the man who handed her over to a psychopath and she walks away without killing him? Dany sends Jorah off on his own to find a cure for his greyscale when he would probably have a better chance of finding a cure with her help? Euron is more concerned with getting drowned and crowned than stopping Yara and Theon from getting away even though he sees them as the biggest threats to his plans and wants them dead? Surely, first you kill or at least imprison your rivals, then go on with the ceremonies? The utterly pointless Braavos scenes with a gratuitous close up of some guy's junk? And to top it off, a gazillion strong army of the dead are besieging the cave but there is no one on the other side of the door so that Bran and Meera can disappear into the snowdrift??? How stupid are we supposed to believe the Night's King and his lieutenants are?
  19. But you do have to be to answer questions...
  20. Because as has been pointed out, they haven't been on this site since April 2011. If they genuinely cared about suggestions and feedback, they would log in every now and then LOL
  21. Important does not have to be defined in terms of how crucial a character is to the plot. As is evidenced by the number of people here who expressed their disappointment that Grenn and Pyp were killed off, they were important to a lot of viewers. I don't really take an interest in what happens behind the scenes regarding whether the series has been picked up for more seasons but will take your word for it. I hope D&D don't continue to kill off the minor characters who add to the rich fabric of Westeros and Essos and make the show more enjoyable simply because they think they are unimportant.
  22. Why was everyone surprised that Stannis didn't show up? In the book he didn't show up at the end of the first battle, so at least that part was faithful to the novel.
  23. I enjoyed the episode but killing so many characters who are still alive in the coming books makes me wonder whether D&D expect this to be the final season. As cheesy as they were, Jon's final moments with Ygritte were well acted and a predictable departure from the novel. Rating: 8 out of 10
  24. ^^^ I totally agree: the beetle smashing monologue was way too drawn out. Otherwise, an 8 out of 10 for the episode, for the same reasons others have already mentioned (the duel, Sansa's scene with the lords of the Vale, Reek/ Theon and Ramsay, Roose legitimising Ramsay). One thing I would have liked though, was for the Hound to have joined in with Arya's laughter when they were told Lyssa was dead. It would have fit in with the development of their relationship.
  25. This isn't so much a casting suggestion but an observation on the accents with which the existing cast speak. Who decides which characters speak with either northern English or southern English accents? Why do some Starks speak with northern accents while others speak with southern ones? Also, the Baratheons and Tarlys are from the south, so why do Robert and Stannis Baratheon and Samwell Tarly have northern accents? By contrast, the Boltons are a northern family, yet the actors playing Roose and Ramsay speak with southern accents. It isn't annoying or distracting, just odd. Having seen some of the actors in question being interviewed, I know that some put on a different accent to their own for the show. Whose decision is it to have them speak with an accent?
