  1. We know that Jon is legitimate from the fact that Ned had to fight the Kingsguard at the Tower of Joy.

    Will the seasons be fixed

I'd expect the seasons to go back to normal once the Others (and dragons ?) are gone. But before that we'll have another Long Night, i.e. a really bad super-winter.

    Casterly Rock

GRRM actually laid the foundations for that early in the series. Tywin put Tyrion in charge of the sewers, so he knows them really well. He'll probably sneak into the castle and open the gates.

    Casterly Rock

The Rock is im-p-p-pregnable! Seriously, we don't know. GRRM hasn't given us much info on siege warfare in Westeros but it doesn't look like they're able to storm a well-defended castle. The Lannisters couldn't storm Riverrun and Stannis held Storm's End for a year. So they'd probably starve the defenders rather than try to storm the castle.

    religion and gods

GRRM has stated at some point that he writes religions, not gods. So it's all just magic.

    German politics xth attempt

That's the price for Germany's trade surplus. It's a liability rather than something to brag about. It may work well for big corporations and their shareholders but the workforce get screwed.

Also, if you look at election results, Schröder did reasonably well in 2005. Merkel came out just ahead by a tiny margin. The big drop came in 2009, after four years with Merkel. The Agenda may be unpopular with party members but not with the general electorate.

    German politics xth attempt

Dreyer is prime minister in one of the smaller states. They may make her caretaker chair, but that's about it. Scholz isn't popular with the party members. That has always been the SPD's problem. Whenever they have a guy who could actually win election they hate them with passion. The timing of this resignation is a bit awkward. Three states hold elections in September / October and the SPD's prospects are not good. The new chair will start their term with a black eye.

Nahles is on her way out. About time. Don't see who could succeed her though.

Pate in Citadel is not dead yet

Pate was killed and is now impersonated by a faceless man formerly known as Jaqen H'ghar.
  12. Actually, their answers imply that they weren't at the ToJ the whole time. They were "far away." Looks like they arrived there just ahead of Ned. And their dismissal of Ned's suggestion that they should be guarding Viserys shows that they don't regard him as the heir to the throne. And they definitely knew what had happened at the Trident.
  13. It took Ned some time to get to the ToJ, he had to end the siege of Storms end first. And the Kingsguard knew what had happened.
  14. Well, Duncan the Small married a commoner. Lyanna is not only noble but from one of the great Houses. Even as a bastard he would be great bastard, both parents being noble and one even a royal. As for the succession, there is the presence of the Kingsguard at the Tower of Joy, which makes no sense if Jon was just a bastard. They should have been with Viserys.

Why did GRRM make Arianne 6 years older than Aegon VI?

Arianne was supposed to marry Viserys, who was the same age as she. Aegon is plan B. Plan C, actually, after Quentyn's mission failed.
  16. Well, the Targs are different. European monarchs may marry their cousins, but not their sisters. Obviously some document would have to be produced to confirm the marriage. Aerys might have excluded Jon from the succession if he had lived but that's besides the point. Right now Targaryen princes are rather short in supply, so if there is to be a restoration Jon is as good a candidate for the throne as it gets. Even as a bastard he might be legitimised and named heir. This is what Robb Stark seems to have done.

Apparently that's not true. From the Wikipedia article: So, the rebate will be subject to negotiations.

    European Parliament Elections 2019

Turnout in Germany was above 60% this time, so people seem to have taken the election more seriously than they used to. Results aren't much different from what the opinion polls for the national elections say. The greens were somewhat stronger than you'd expect. I guess there's a higher turnout among their (rather wealthy) voters.
  19. Has to be either Ashara or Lyanna. Ashara supposedly jumped off a tower. Not because of Rhaegar, but we don't know what the public has been told. Lyanna didn't jump, but we don't know what the official story about her death is either.

Why didn't Lyanna write to Eddard?

At this point Lyanna is damaged goods. Getting her back accomplishes nothing. She is no longer fit for a marriage into a family of rank. The only way Rhaegar can make amendments is marry her. Which he probably did, though it was bigamy. That would still leave the issue of the broken promise to Robert.

Why didn't Lyanna write to Eddard?

Can't answer for SFDanny, but Lyanna wasn't particularly thrilled with the prospect of marrying Robert, and Ned at least knew it. Then Rhaegar crowns her queen of love and beauty at Harrenhal instead of his wife. Not exactly making his affection a secret. A bit later Lyanna goes missing, abducted by Rhaegar. We are never told the circumstances but the Starks obviously know. How else could they know it was Rhaegar? She wasn't travelling alone and there is no mention of her entourage being slaughtered or even a fight. So, they stayed behind and told what happened. What the Starks told Robert is another thing. And it can't be repeated often enough, it legally is abduction and rape either way.

    European Parliament Elections 2019

I think that map is misleading, as it only indicates the biggest party. But that's often just a quarter of the votes in the respective country. The social democrats are still the second largest group in the European parliament. But if you want the EU to turn away from neoliberalism, the social democrats aren't the right party anyway. I think you'd actually have to change the Lisbon treaty, which blurs the line between wanting a different direction and being anti-EU.

UK Politics: The End of May

Is it? Brexit party got the most votes but still fewer than 1/3. Not exactly an overwhelming vote in favour of a hard Brexit.

    European Parliament Elections 2019

Will be interesting to see who is going to be president of the commission. The EPP has been pushing Weber but there needs to be a three party alliance now and the liberals (ALDE) won't support him. Macron wants a president appointed by the council. Parliament will have to come up with its own candidate if it wants to prevail. As for the German result, no big surprises there. The SPD definitely is in trouble. They are on track to become a one digit party. Not a particularly great result for the Christian Democrats either. Looks like the Greens benefit big time from the Grand Coalition (which isn't grand anymore). AfD is strongest party in Brandenburg and Saxony. Both states have elections in September. SPD has been in power in Brandenburg since the state was created but they are only the third-strongest party right now. Greens got twice as many votes as the SPD in Berlin. Doesn't bode well for the coalition there either, which is SPD-led.

    Who is the great other?

There may or may not be a dark lord. But Melisandre has a tendency of getting things wrong. Like taking Stannis for Azor Ahai. And her performances are definitely just magic, not divine intervention.
