Take out everything between Lady Stoneheart's question (p915) and Brienne's answer "she screamed a word" (p916). Lady Stoneheart: "The sword or the noose?" (p915)...Brienne: "$word!" (p916) And if that does not make it clear, look at the last word in the Brienne chapter before the last (p799). *) ETA: I write "easy one" - that's so in retrospect.It took me quite a while to figure it out, though, knowing it should be right under my nose, re-reading the last Brienne chapter again and again. He has explicitly stated that she said "sword". He doesn't lie in interviews, he either gives the correct answer (or what he believes to be correct at that point in time), or says nothing at all.
