Small Questions v 10022

Still, Jaime has no reason to play for the public. He is little loved, and loves them back even less. We have never seen him do a gallant act prior to his maiming, and the fact that it's stated that he blew a kiss to a specific woman, instead of to the general women present, makes it even more suspecious.

I have never though much on that passage, but I'm liking Xandrios' theory quite a lot.

I'm not saying the theory is right or wrong, but I think that Jaime as a tourney knight was "little loved" is a big misconception.

As a member of the Kings Guard, shouldn't Jaime's vows prevented him from leading a Lannister host for his father in the Riverlands? I'm pretty sure he is in charge of the army when the fighting was basically only about Catelyn kidnapping Tyrion and not about defending the realm.

They should have, but they also should have kept him from killing Aerys. And he does love his brother, even if no one else seems to.

For what little it's worth, Jamie seems to make a clear distinction between Kingsguard work and House Lannister work. He wears the white armor when the feels he is acting on behalf of the crown and his gold plated armor when acting on behalf of his house. (Edit: at least once in Dance, I think the Siege of Riverrun, he can't decide and doesn't wear either. ) When he fled Kings Landing he probably would have been counted a Kingsguard deserter like Sandor, were it not for his family connections.

I dont recall if this question is about Winds content or.not so i will spoiler it to err on the side of caution.

We know Ser Balon Swann, Areo Hotah, and Obara Sand are sent to High Hermitage after Darkstar. But does that mean Myrcella doesnt leave Dorne? I assumed she would wait for her KG knight to accompany her. Also, what excuse is given for Trystane not leaving Dorne?

Shamefully resubmitting my question as I didnt notice an answer to it :(

Oops! I thought someone had already answered you.

In the epilogue of Dance, it is mentioned that preparations should be made for Myrcella, which to me sounds like she's coming home.

Here it is from the ADwD epilogue:

The seventh voice would be the Dornishwoman now escorting Myrcella home. The Lady Nym.

To me it sounds like the Lannisters think Myrcella is on her way home, accompanied by Lady Nym since Ser Balon is off Darkstar hunting. Yet, in TWoW Arianne chapter we learn

that Dornish hosts are massing in the Prince's Pass and the Boneway, and that Arianne has been sent to meet with Jon Connington at Griffin's Roost. Sounds to me like the letter promising Myrcella is on her way is probably a ruse. It's doubtful Doran would let such a valuable cyvasse piece slip through his fingers, at least not until he knows the situation with JonCon and Aegon.

Btw, Trystane is never mentioned after Doran's polite prevarication to Ser Balon in ADwD.
