Nymeria_Stark Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Highgarden isnt a city, there are only 5 cities in Westeros; White Harbour, Gulltown, Kings Landing, Oldtown and Lannisport. I believe Highgarden was described as a Palace rather than a castle somewhere though What exactly is the difference between a Palace and a Castle? Also, I wonder if, once the war is over, someone will build a team to scour the known and hidden corridors of Harrenhal with the hope of rebuilding it. Right now, it's basically in ruins, right? The Crow's Third Eye Posted January 28, 2014 Share Posted January 28, 2014 What exactly is the difference between a Palace and a Castle?I'm not exactly sure, I just seem to remember that from somewhere. I could quite easily be mistaken though. I always think of a Palace as more ornamental and built for beauty and luxury, whilst castles are for defensive purposes. But tbh i dont know. If someone else could provide an answer perhaps?ETA: Nymeria Stark - its largely in ruins yes, but certain parts were still habitable as there have been a number of noble families there; Strong, Lothston, Whent and Baelish are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Clearly, after 300 years, no one seems to care to rebuild it.
