Game of Thrones Featurette Due February 9

Westeros

I think the bigger issue, as it concerns the male-to-female nudity ratio is that more female actors are willing to bare it all for the camera than male actors. I've brought this up before, but it's worth mentioning again. There's more ego involved as it concerns a penis than their is for a woman and her vagina (or even her breasts).

Also this is what started the discussion - this is not a good thing that you're saying here.

No, you're wrong. I'm saying based on interviews, we know many of the men did not sign contracts any different than the women, and yet there's still this disparity.

Here's a woman spelling it out very clearly, this is how it is:

Based on what interviews? The one that you're continually posting? Let's take a look at another quote from that interview:

I ask her how she felt about doing the scene and Tena does not mince her words. ‘I don’t give a f**k about nakedness. As an actor, […] obviously if it calls for it. You’re not just going to get naked otherwise that’s just basically doing porn. But if it calls for it, I really think you should get over yourself.’

Seems she's speaking for herself here, not on behalf of some crusade for equality. No mention of contracts, as far as I can tell. And your post also seems to be ignorant of the fact that every actor will have their own contract drawn up, specific to them.

And if you think what I posted about contracts and nudity in the entertainment industry is wrong, well... Unfortunately, you're wrong. These things exist, and they happen. Regularly. You're letting your crusade get in the way of simple facts.

As far as my quote that "started this discussion"... Did I ever say it was 'right'? Personally, if I were an actor, I would have no problem going full frontal. Many do have a problem with it. It's called ego. You can pretend that these things don't exist, or that everyone should adhere to your outlook on the subject, but I won't.

Basically this.

I have a few more things to add but will only include one.

I for one was quite disappointed with D&D not including that peach scene which is extremely important for Stannis's character.

GRRM agrees with me.

The peach would have taken 30 seconds tops and could've easily cut out nude scenes for it but nope.

I've been going through a series rewatch lately and something stood out for me in episode one of season two. They introduce Team Stannis in two scenes lasting about seven minutes. The show needs to set up these new, important characters and establish what they're all about. The kicker: they waste three minutes on a silly scene between Cersei and Petyr, instead of using those three minutes to further flesh out the new characters. Sure, the show did a decent job, but it felt extremely rushed for me (even on my rewatch, it took me a second viewing to catch all the info they throw at the audience). I would have appreciated three extra minutes there.

Sansa's IQ dropping in season 3 and making her ask things such as if her family will attend the wedding.

To be fair, she had a similar moment of stupidity in the novels. At the end of Sansa VII in ACOK, she entertains the notion of Robb leading Tywin's vanguard. I generally agree with what you said, though.

How am I getting personal? Because I mentioned your "crusade"? Something that is also an observable fact. Did I imply that there was something wrong with your stance? No, in fact, I've repeatedly mentioned that I agree with you in the general sense. So go ahead and throw "each and every one" of my "personal remarks" back at me. I welcome it, because I'm not entirely sure what you're even talking about at this point.

I invoked your name incorrectly too, I guess, Annara Snow.

My point would have been, had I found the right person who had criticised GrrM's sex scenes, that some people criticise them on similar grounds to those the show is derided for.

It's funny. There's that rule that given enough time every board will start talking about Hitler. I guess around here its sex scenes. Understandably, I guess. But how about them featurettes, huh?
