Tywin Smokin a Blunt
Here's a question for the boards, especially those who have been here a while and those who love to pour through the minutia of the text looking for clues. Is there a board consensus, or any hints in the text as to what family Maester Marwyn comes from? It occurred to me because he's now on his way to find Dany, so presumably he could be one of the people Quaithe warned her about. As a side note though, if he isn't a part of that prophecy, then Quaithe isn't worried about him influencing Dany. So what could that tell about Quaithe's motives? Ser Uncle P
his omission from Quaithe's prophecy is interesting. She tells Dany to Beware the "sun's son, lion, kracken etc" so perhaps Dany needn't be ware of Marwyn? or Q is unaware of the Archmaester's movements? Ser Leftwich
Story timing wise, when Quaithe gives that warning, Marwyn had not met Samwell yet nor left Oldtown to go to Dany. There is also the question of how Quaithe knows what she does (possibly through use of a glass candle). For instance, Quaithe warns about the griffin, but the griffin ends up going a different direction. So Quaithe might only be seeing the real-time actions of "the griffin," (Griff preparing to go east to Dany) not the true future (Griff going west). Can't think of any credible theories on Marwyn's family.
