Moqorro

The Mighty Dragonzzilla

That is extremely ignorant to say and a false accusation. Sorry but look:

Xaro Xhoan Daxos is white in the books, yet they changed him into a black character who was not at all cliche in that regard.

Plus: Grrm wrote very few black characters to begin with. The only ones are the few summer islanders.

Xaro Xhoan Daxos was a white merchant with ambiguous alliances who is still alive in the books. He was a black merchant (who was specifically mentioned to have been a slave in the past) with evil ambitions who is now dead in the show. That does not speak well of the show's casting choice to me.

Just because GRRM didn't specifically write a lot of a black characters (or characters of other races/ethnicities) doesn't mean those characters can't be cast - our media needs more diversity, not less.

Daxos wanted to marry Dany so he gets half of her dragons. How is that good intentions? He had a souls as black as it gets. He even ran after her to Meereen and tried to bring her down again.

Besides it is good to have an evil black character that has a head and is cunning for a change. Normally they are only the good guys or the crazy bad guys.

Don't make a racism topic when there is none.

Besides: Did you notice how few russian actors are on the show? And the one they have now is a cannibal monster....so what does that say? And there are no chinese people or whatever. Your point is just ridiculous.

Well it seems they're looking for someone Asian to be the Waif in Arya's storyline next yr (if I'm not mistaking) so we'll have that too at least. Yay diversity

There will also be an asian girl this season, according to the wiki.

Disappointingly, I can only imagine what kind of job she will have...cough cough.

She's one of the Children of the Forest, I believe.

My initial thought aswell, though she seems too tall for that and well she is no child, even if they are no children..you know what I mean.

Heretic, but could it also be Arianne or someone from Dorne? I doubt it highly, but perhaps..

I could imagine a last scene in Dorne, similar to the Yara scene last season.

I did mention him and thank god someone else agrees, I thought there must have been something wrong with me as no-one else suggested him. I mean he looks the part, he is a great actor and he is in possession of one hell of a voice.

Too big for the role.

I like the shout for the dude from Oz. Fits my imagination of the character

Isaach de Bankole is the one. all the others do not fit. They may have the optics, but not the aura. And that is the most important thing about Moqorro.

Not a bad pick. He has worked on HBO before. I remember him being on one episode of the sopranos. Not sure if imposing enough physically. Still would prefer the dude from Oz

Just watch scenes from Limits of Control or Casino Royale, and you know, he is the guy.

Hadn't thought of him but yes,Isaach de Bankole, (something dead around the eyes) is a great choice & as you said, the aura of Moqorro (great band name!) is even more important than the look. In my mind I see someone w/ the physique of the late Michael Clarke Duncan, the gravitas of Morgan Freeman, but none of those fit b/c the aura of High Priest Benero's right hand man is essential. Like Melisandre, he has an otherworldy assurance, completely unafraid, a power, somewhat malicious, that emanates from within.

I think Morgan would make a terrible choice, as he is far too warm and friendly. His voice is so grandfatherly and all. Moqorro has to be intimidating and scary and mysterious, but he seems nice..just not from his voice or looks. Morgan Freeman would make this the other way. His voice indicates he is nice, but his lines make you wonder if he is evil.

So yeah. Isaach or perhaps Keith David, as he looks cool with facial tattoos and has a "scary" and mysterious look and aura around him.

I think you're underestimating Mr. Freeman's range. But they won't get him anyway so it's a moot point.

I'm not. I actually love that guy in every role of him. But 1. He shouldn't play every important or mysterious guy in every movie and 2. I can't for the life of me imagine him as Moqorro.

I mean even if he plays the bad guy, like in Slevin, he could talk to you and you just feel home. And he was a despicable person in that one.
