Hm, didn't know about all that, sadly i'm in Canada. I'll check out some deals before going for the PS3.

I hear ya man, games are $70 and the ps4 is $450 thanks to the loonie's rate. And Sony's deals haven't been nearly as good as Microsoft's in Canada. You just might be better off opting for the ps3. But in that case you may want to consider buying used to save even more. Ps3 doesn't have much left in its life cycle, so I'd want to get it at the lowest possible price at this point.

Luckily I got the $400 ps4 at launch

It's a good plan, I mean you'll get to play some great exclusives aside from The Show and LoU. The Uncharted series, MGS4, and Journey are the great ones I can think of at the moment. And there's also the HD remake of Shadow of the Colossus, which is one of the strangest games I've ever played (in a good way).

We're obviously getting off topic here. So on that note I've got some thoughts on the movie. They can't possibly go without including David, can they? I heard them mention that things will have to be cut down in the adaptation (naturally), so I was wondering if that's possible. I hope not, because I thought David's section was the best of the game.

Depends on the angle they go with. If the focus is on the Shroom Zombies, he could be cut with little effect. But if you make the game more about the conflict of man vs man (where the game really shines IMHO) then I think David has to stay.

David is probably the most memorable character after Joel and Ellie and the closest thing the game has to a villain (and that part of the game is the best) so I'd be ticked if they cut him. Plus, the winter section is practically the only point where Ellie is truly alone and left to care for Joel, and since they want their relationship to be the primary focus of the game I think they'd include it.

I think Bill's town and that city filled with raiders are more likely to get cut down (or out).

There is an element of the story that is told through those sections - the part of the narrative where Joel starts to trust Ellie more. They could cut the whole sewer/sniper section and leave the brothers out of it altogether, but there has to be something where the Joel/Ellie partnership (as opposed to the Escort/Job) part of it really begins to show. Maybe they can do that somewhere else but IMO the best way for that to happen is with the baby steps shown in Bill's town and the bit where Ellie saves Joel and then he gives her the gun in Pittsburgh.

A photographer captured scenes of a snow covered interior of an abandoned shopping mall in Ohio.

Its eerie and gives off a heckuva Last Of Us type vibe to me.

I guess they don't need a location scout to scope out the mall Ellie drags Joel to when he gets impaled. But it looks a lot like Naughty Dog knew of this mall when they made Left Behind. Because Left Behind is intertwined with the main story, If they keep the Joel impalement in the movie, then I can see them doing a flashback sequence to put the Left Behind story into the movie. Though it feels like they'd have to decide whether to tell Ellie's backstory and leave out David all together, or have David in there and leave out Left Behind. They should film both so that they can make the call in the editing room and the extended edition Blu-ray/DVD can have both story lines in there.
