Rhaenys_Targaryen
Because Shireen is his only heir. Why would he hurt the only one able to carry the Baratheon name if after his death, there will be more war and fights over who gets the crown? This. Stannis' duty is to the realm, and Shireens blood isn't the only Kings blood. So why sacrifice your own heir, the only heir you have, when there are others you can sacrifice with the same effect? Kikajon
Stannis acts for a sense of justice, not for blind lust of power. If it was just the crown he wanted, he could sacrifice shereen, dismiss Selyse and get new heirs. But he will not wrong the legitime heir of a legitime king. Haven19
I don't think Stannis would allow it but never say never. GRRM has a way of surprising me. Lets hope not though, I like Shireen lol
lovelikeangels
She may have suggested it, but Stannis would never allow it. this is probs what would've happened. i think he has a different connection to his own daughter.

WhiteWalkerTexasRanger
Are we considering the show? If youre up to date Game of Thrones show
, youll know that Shireen is sacrificed to save Stannis' army or take away the cold from them or something-not yet clarified what became of her sacrifice. But in the show he was willing to do it, for the realm and his destiny, and
GRR is an executive producer. He helps write scripts and has told the producers how he plans to end the books. If he gave the go to do this, and other things, doesnt that provide proof that Stannis is willing to go to great lengths? Game of Thrones will likely finish first and GRR is bringing both the show and books to the same ending so shouldnt we consider the show as partial evidence? Murgle
Stannis would probably not do it, unless it got him a dragon or something. Maybe for 2 dragons.

GRRM had pretty much nothing to do with this last season.
