Little Bird Sansa Posted July 30, 2015 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Robert absolutely loathes the Targaryens to the point where he murders infants, so if anything he would not symbolically place a feather in the hand of Lyanna with the colours of the Targaryen banner. From what we know of Robert Baratheon, he was a very self centered character. When Cersei has a child, he brings her a pelt. To honour Lyanna, he brings her a feather, most likely from a bird that he killed himself. If there is any deep symbolism here, it's probably to due with Robert's willful ignorance that Lyanna did not love him, and he's so blind to this that he does not even realize that he's placed the Targaryen colours in her hand.
