The King Of Cooked Steak

Casting for Randyll Tarly

Recommended Posts

Graham would be fantastic. And he shouldn't feature too much in the second season of Outlander (unless they expand the role) so he could be available.

Randyll and tywin are characters much alike so someone like Charles Dance would be perfect

Sadly, Randyll Tarly always made me think of James Gandolfini.

Martin Shaw (George Gently) would be a great Randyll Tarly if they try to keep him in the same age bracket as Mace, Ned, Bobby B and that generation. He's a great actor and very dignified and imposing. He could definitely play gruff Randyll.

Ray Winstone could work out. He has a high-ish speaking voice but can put on a bitter, gravely Northern accent if needed (example: his voicework for Beowulf).

EDIT: Oh, the Tarlys are Southern. Nevermind. :/

peter capaldi (minus accent) for randyll tarly.

I know he doesn't fit the description but that's what I imagined him to be...

After seeing Tim McInnery in the latest Strike Back, I think he is perfect.
