What if Dany never conquers Westeros?

I was thinking about this and wondered, what if instead of conquering westeros like the Targaryans of the past, she instead decides to stay in the east and in a similar manner brings everyone in the east under Targaryan rule, uniting the Dothraki, demolishing the slave trade, and conquering the entirety of the east? It would then set up more of a 'savior' role for her if she chooses to use her dragons to help the westerosi.

The reason being that I don't see why you even need to have the mereenese knot unless being out east is important. There's also the constant theme that history repeats itself throughout the books, though not always 'exactly'.

Thoughts? Crackpot? Stupid, but possible?

Wouldn't surprise me.I fully expect a lengthy stop and slaughter of Volantis and another stop in Pentos to say hi, maybe find some other new guy to day dream about and waste half of another book.Aegon seems to have the Westeros campaign in check anyways.Let her stay out east.Hopefully Vic can at least steal one dragon with that horn.If she won't put them to use, somebody should.

Dany needs to be in Westeros to start the second Dance of Dragons, which GRRM said would happen. Besides, what is the point of Dany's storyline if it isn't going to affect any of the other storylines in Westeros?

Ahhhh. Logical statements. Brain is hurting. Make it stop!

Dany not coming to Westeros makes zero sense. Otherwise, what has been the point of her story for five books? If there is any thing along the lines of what OP is saying; it would be Dany returning to Essos, after Westeros. But I find that highly doubtful too.

Have to agree, Dany has to come to Westeros at some point otherwise she should never have existed. Surely no one thinks she was just a plot point to show King Bob's hatred toward Targs and Ned's trying to save them.

I think she'll fail although not for lack of trying and I think a likely outcome is for her to get her ass kicked back to Mereen for a do-over there assuming GRRM doesn't have the heart to kill her off.

Story needs or not, I find it hard to respect someone who is willing to start a war that may kill hundreds of thousands of people when they already have a kingdom but just not the kingdom they want. It's really not that different from the Dothraki she condemned in the first book.

That would be ideal....for me. Well no her death would be ideal, but this would be second best (minus the savior part). I happen think that she is descending into darkness, and quickly.

I am sure she will end up in Essos at the end, after "visiting" westeros of course.

She burnt half Essos, and tryed to rule them. Now they are her people. Westeros isnt her home, it isnt her red door, she never saw the place. She cant leave Slaver Bay forever without looking completly incompetant, she visibly cant give the job to someone else forever either, this is her responsability.

Fruits code:Olives = Peace and it takes 21year to get an effective olives tree. She has work to do, a lot.

She even admitted herself that Westeros isnt Targ territory anymore.

A rich woman came, whose husband and sons had died defending the city walls. During the sack she had fled to her brother in fear. When she returned, she found her house had been turned into a brothel. The whores had bedecked themselves in her jewels and clothes. She wanted her house back, and her jewels. “They can keep the clothes,” she allowed. Dany granted her the jewels but ruled the house was lost when she abandoned it.

unless Dany's rules apply to everyone but herself.

Then everyone is for the better. Lets face it, she is a shitty queen (hello Meereen and Daario anyone??), and people don't want targeryens or at least targeryens borne if incest anymore.

How 'bout Targs born of bigamy? :)

Nah, seriously, what the people want doesn't come into it much, and Westoros is there for the taking if someone can take it.

I am sure GRRM has a role in the Westoros storyline for Dany, which has been waiting for her since he started writing.

It would be acceptable if it happened earlier in the story. At the last two books, it would be treacherous to shatter our expectations like that.

You're right, GRRM would never treacherously shatter our expectations... oh, wait... ;)

IMAO, OK so long as he does writes it with great drama and panache.

Half Essos? Slaver Bay's not even 1/20 of Essos

Cmon dont play with number, Dothraki sea, The Red Waste and now Volantis is involving itself with her. Almost Half. And By "burning" i wished you could be able to understand any involvement in wars/battles and any other disruption of daily life.

Agreed. Besides, IMO Dany's dragons will be needed in the North/Wall to burn/kill the thousands of wights that possibly will be invading the continent. Also, IIRC, didn't Jon mentioned that "it will be nice to have one or three dragons"?
