Jace, Extat
I'm supportive of the Halo re-releases. The originals lag sometimes.
Gears of the Beast
From the old thread: New Vegas is also far better-written, with much stronger characters and vastly superior dialogue. Obsidian has some of the best writers ever to work in the CRPG genre. Bethesda, with the best will in the world, don't (athough Skyrim is still a lot better-written than Fallout 3 or Oblivion). What? That is the most indefensibly insane thing you've ever said about Fallout 3. I was actually agreeing with everything you said before that. Seriously how can you defend that sentiment at all? The writing in Skyrim is dogshit compared to Fallout 3. I can't even think of a single instance in the whole game during any main quest/side quest/random event/DLC quest/anything where the writing is better than anything in Fallout 3 at all. It cannot be understated how terrible the writing in Skyrim is. While not earth shattering the writing in Fallout 3 is a whole different league to Skyrim. In terms of New Vegas v Skyrim: if you want to wander around marveling at a purely awesome world for around 70 hours go for Skyrim. If you want a substantive RPG experience with legitimate replayability go for New Vegas.
Gears of the Beast
Was just looking at some DayZ dev screenshots. I find it pretty astounding how far they've managed to go with the game, just look at what DayZ used to be. Incidentally DayZ is currently 15% off to celebrate Bohemia Interactive's 15 year anniversary.
TheEvilKing
I'm holding off until the game's finished. Greatly looking forward to it.
JonArryn
Just downloaded both of the DLC's to last year two best games. Last of Us: Left Behind and Bioshock: Burial at Sea. I will play them soon and I have high expectations for both.
Rhom
In my "Four years late Mass Effect 2 noobtastic playthrough" I am finally nearing the suicide mission. I only have loyalty missions left for Zaeed, Thane, and Samara and then the IFF mission. I've done just about every sidequest I have come across and I am waiting to do the DLC missions. Have really enjoyed the game. The first few hours took me a bit to get used to because I had to get the hang of the gameplay being different than ME1. I have diligently stayed away from spoilers so I was actually surprised when I found out Archangel's identity and the fact that Jack wasn't a guy. Also, if you will recall the repeated frustration and difficulty I had with ME1's button mashing minigame to open every goddamned locker; I must say that I readily welcome the hacking and bypass minigames in this one. Also, I picked up the Mass Effect: Infiltrator game on my iPhone the other day and its a fun little time waster when I'm away from home. I'm trying to decide if once I finish ME2 if I want to go straight to ME3 or take a quick break and play through Stick of Truth. :dunno:

The Drunkard
I can't even think of a single instance in the whole game during any main quest/side quest/random event/DLC quest/anything where the writing is better than anything in Fallout 3 at all. I don't think anything in Skyrim trumps Little Lamplight in terms of stupidity.
Inigima
Played some more Guns of Icarus today. Still such a great little game. It's also really cheap for like another a week and a half still.

Sad King Billy
Say what you like about Skyrim. That first Dragon fight was pretty spectacular. 10 minutes of waiting around until that overgrown selfimportant lizard drops to the ground for a few seconds so I can beat it 2 times with my axes and then it takes off again. For melee characters Skyrim's dragons were just waiting around: the game.
paddington
Not going to say the dragon fights became tedious, or it could be a little frustrating. Just the first time it landed, started breathing fire, and walking down the road. It was pretty bloody good.

Shryke
It's too bad they do so little with it. It's a great opening and could have really been powerful.

Yeah, I was really shocked and pissed off initially. I got over it about seven minutes later.
fuseprime
Started playing Skyrim a lot recently, I'm dealing with the issues that abound from wanting a character who specialises in something, whilst not depriving myself of using certain skill sets without making a new character. I don't know. I don't think your initial choice of "class" matters much. I picked a Norse dude. I ended up becoming a sort of Battle-Mage. But, if you play a enough, you won't have trouble with your options. Maybe you can just be a Werewolf or Vampire the whole game. That could be fun.
