Fat Mac
Wow great stuff. So now I'm wondering is how is Jeyne related to Lord Damon Marbrand, and is the relation why Jaime and Addam are such good friends?Ellyn Tarbeck originally being a Reyne explains the Tarbecks role in the rebellion. Could she have been the Red Lions sister?
Hardstone
So now I'm wondering is how is Jeyne related to Lord Damon Marbrand, and is the relation why Jaime and Addam are such good friends? Addam served as a page/squire at Casterly Rock. Now we have a clearly picture of why it came to pass.
LugaJetboyGirl
Yes, Elleyn Tarbeck née Reynes was the sister of the Red Lion. She was originally engaged to the eldest of Gerold's wonderful golden twins, so she was essentially the acting Lady of Casterly Rock for a while, making "it Reyne inside Casterly Rock." Then her fiancé died. She then seduced the second twin get him to marry her, but he died. Eventually she was married off to the Tarbeck to get rid of her because she was so powerful and smart as a political player. She then brought the Tarbecks back to power. She was always close to Her two brothers the Reynes and in fact she is essentially the reason the Reynes fell, due to the event that happened in the destruction of the Tarbeck castle and the Red Lion running off to save his sister without his full force.History of Westeros will be posting all these details soon. And maybe Jeyne was the sister of the former Lord Marbrand, and Damon's aunt, possibly Darlessas (Tygetts wife) too. Making her Addams great aunt. This would make Jaime and Addam second cousins? All speculation though, but it fits.Ooh, between tion and his brother, Cersei and Jaime and Martyn and Willam, it seems twins are definitely a Lannister trait.Robert had two twins at Casterly Rock. Secret Lannisters? ;)

Curious as to why Tywin would refuse their surrender, and kill them off anyway. Really want to know what they did to Tywin that completely drove him over the edge. Mrs.Grumpy
I really like Ellyn Reyne, she's awesome. Apparently, a huge rock crushed Maekar that is hurled from the battlements at Starpike and that's how he died.

Henri Flowers
I remembered something else. After Tion died, Ellyn attempted to seduce Tytos and persuade him to put aside Jeyne but he was unable to perform. That was another reason for the Jeyne/Ellyn rivarly and why Gerold married her off to Tarbeck

Curious as to why Tywin would refuse their surrender, and kill them off anyway. Really want to know what they did to Tywin that completely drove him over the edge.Tytos was a terrible ruler and everyone laughed at him to his face and he continually let his vassals and banner men take advantage of him. He never responded to the insults and challenges to Lannister power. Tytos pretty much destroyed Lannister power and was humiliated over and over again, but always thought the best of people and forgave them for their insults and sins. This enraged Tywin for years and is why in the end he destroyed (with NO mercy) the Tarbecks and Reynes, without his fathers approval. Also why he couldn't handle his dwarf son being laughed at, and bringing humiliation once again to the Lannisters.
The Wolves
So Tywin took it upon himself to destroy the Reynes and Tarbacks without his fathers approval? And Tywin is a monster.

LugaJetboyGirl
@TheWolves: Yes, because Tytos would not respond to the challenges, which included skirmishes and the killing of Tytos' father in law. Also, Tywin was real big on destroying the women and children of enemy houses - throwing babies down wells, off of battlements, and of course, killing the 300 women and children of the Reynes. All when he was 19.He seems to be a complete sociopath.
Maia
I remembered something else. After Tion died, Ellyn attempted to seduce Tytos and persuade him to put aside Jeyne but he was unable to perform. That was another reason for the Jeyne/Ellyn rivarly and why Gerold married her off to Tarbeck It is a great pity for the Lannisters and for her that she was unable to bear Lannister children, but this is just argh. I am becoming increasingly convinced that hatred of Jeyne Marbrand's children for her was wholly justified. And, of course, if they knew about this incident, it created yet yet another button that got pushed by Tytos's mistress later. Clearly, after all this crap Tytos's children were hyper-sensitive about anything that looked like usurpation of their mother's position.
