QuietColours
Clearing the cache didn't help. I reinstalled chrome and it's cut the percent of reloads it happens on down to maybe 10% of the time (down from about 95%). This is what it's like when it happens--http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/Dewtreader/screenshot_zpsantvgatv.jpg
Dya of Oldstones
Thanks! I missed that there was a separate Tapatalk thread. Will check it out. As an FYI, I just tried Tapatalk and was able to connect to the forums again. eta: My post count has stayed the same for the last few posts as well. Ran
Very, very strange. Quiet, can you look at the page source when that happens, search for SidebarAd, and tell me what you see immediately under it( Basically look for this: <div class="SidebarAd" style="visibility: visible; opacity: 1;"> <script stuff> </div> I'm interested in the script stuff between the start of the div and the end of it. Posts in Forum Games and in Help don't count if I remember correctly.
Howling Mad
Howling Mad, That issue should be gone now -- were you really still having it when you posted? Because we swapped out the serving ad network a few hours earlier than that, and so far as we can see that should resolve the issue. Yes I was still having the issue when I posted. I thought it was resolved when I made this post but it reappeared immediately after I posted. Edited March 1, 2015 by Howling Mad

With all the rest of the problems we've been having I considered post count way down on the priority list if it even was a problem. Thanks for explaining. Ran
Have tried some things to refresh the skin -- maybe there's some corrupt or stray code. Let me know if you guys see any improvement (please clear your browser cache though).
Mladen
Search is not available as the Sphinx API is not available, please contact an administrator about this issue I tried to search the Entertainment forum and this came up... edit: Oh, I see, it has been disabled... OK... Sorry for bringing it up again. Edited March 1, 2015 by Mladen

Howling Mad
Cleared the cache and I'm still being attacked by the ad side bar. I usually only get one page few before being disabled and frozen up. It occurs in both IE and Chrome. Ran
Bloody baffling, this. Hrm.... Has anyone seen an improvement at all since one or two days ago? Maybe I've been looking at the wrong thing all along...
Xray the Enforcer
Hey Ran, just FYI -- the Sphinx API error is coming up for me when I click on threads. Nymeria10k
Hey Ran, just FYI -- the Sphinx API error is coming up for me when I click on threads. Thread in question: http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/121222-whats-for-dinner-5/ I've had that problem since yesterday, same issue with the UK politics thread All other threads are fine, just those two, and they are the only two threads that have tags. Could it be do with that? Edited March 1, 2015 by Nymeria10k
Xray the Enforcer
Nice catch. Yes, that looks to be the case. I dug up three more threads with tags, and they serve error messages as well. Ran, is there a way to turn that field off entirely? That way, anything that's tagged will still be usable?
