Do people in Dorne treat bastards differently or was it just Oberyn?

They're a lot more common to find at court in Dorne, and in general Dorne is very different about such matters, so a tentative yes?

I think bastards are in the position where they aren't looked down upon or thought as treacherous like in the other regions. However they still are beneath the nobility and a marriage to a bastard is still probably unthinkable.

The Dornish claim they treat them fairly, but if that were completely true, they wouldn't use the name "sand" and screw them out of inheritance.

In general, we find very different treatment of bastards in Westeros depending on the family.

Hm,more like the person not family.

For example Ned treated Jon as he would treat Robb but I don't think the other Starks had the same view.

I think the idea that bastards are treated differently in Dorne is an invention of the HBO show. Couldn't find anything in the books by searching "bastards" anyway. There's nothing mentioned on the concordance page for Dorne.
