Rhaenys_Targaryen
Yep, around balding age. Targ. So, in addition to being immune to fire (misconception) and immune to disease (misconception), Targaryen are now also immune to going bald? Being or not being Targaryen has got nothing to do with going bald.
The Bedding
Yes, but Jaime is only in his thirties (about 34) whereas Tywin is almost 60. There is no reason that Jaime should be bald...And being a Targaryen does not stop you from going bald either, btw. I don't know where you got that from. (Not that I think Jaime is though) ETA: Tywin also had his head shaved when he "started" going bald - which presumably means his hair was thinningDidn't have Targ immunity to baldness in mind. Baldness from father to son is very consistent in the real world. I don't think Aerys was bald. IIRC neglectfully let his hair and nails grow long as he grew more crazy and weird. Rhaenys_Targaryen
:agree: ......and has got nothing to do with the reasoning behind the post. For all we know, Tywin went bald only 10 years ago (in his late 40ties). Many years before Jaime will go bold, if he has indeed inherited the trait. Since we don't know when Tywin went bald, you really can't say something about Jaime going or not going bald. And who knows, perhaps Tywin's baldness had another cause. We haven't heard about any other bald Lannisters, now have we? ;)
aryagonnakill#2
Baldness doesn't follow the father, for the record. Its the mothers father.

Rhaenys_Targaryen
Can someone help me find the source for the Targaryens prior to the Conquest? So from Aenar to Aerion? I only found "the full story of the Conquest" on "Wertzone", but I see at least one Targaryen missing there, and there's information on there contradicting the current wiki info. So I'd like to see the full source(s) on the topic, if anyone can help?

Archmaester Drew
Baldness doesn't follow the father, for the record. Its the mothers father. Always? Or in the majority of the cases? Always. The genes for baldness are on the X chromosome, which in males is always inherited from the mother, as the Y is always inherited from the father. :)
aryagonnakill#2
Always? Or in the majority of the cases? Nothings always, genetics is complicated, for instance at a certain % a person with any asian or african heritage can't have certain features and that screws things up. But my parents both have the same heritage so I can be pretty sure I will follow my moms dad and go bald :(

You've answered two questions in once :DThough don't forget hormonal causes ;)
