Philadelphia get-together

I'm not attending, but it's really close to home so I will be happy to meet up if anyone is around.

I will be there for some of it. Once I get my schedule from them -- which will probably be no more than 3 days prior to the con -- I'll post it here.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm from the area, am in town this weekend (will be leaving Wednesday/Thursday next week) but am looking to return. Looking to get employment here and return home - there's no place quite like philly .... You know how it is... I'd be down for a meet up but it would have to happen on short notice. Otherwise I would be down for it when I return after thnxgiving (probably) in my job quest.

As promised, here's my schedule for Philcon. It arrived today, only six days before the con -- a new record for them, since it's normally shown up with even less advance notice.

Given that my Saturday panel is late-night, this might work well for a group dinner expedition.

TECHNOLOGICAL DEPENDENCE (1867)

[Panelists: Bernie Mojzes (mod), David M. Axler, Mark Wolverton,

Daniel Grotta, Eric Hardenbrook]

Is our society too dependent on technology? Are we becoming

cybermen? From smartphones and tablets to online communities and

relationships, have we become unable to function without our

mechanical assistants

Sat 11:00 PM in Plaza III (Three) (1 hour)

OUT IN FANDOM (1833)

[Panelists: Pam Smith (mod), Thomas Atkinson, David M. Axler, Raven

Stormbringer, Kyle Williamson]

Fandom is said to be an inclusive society and open minded. Do

members of the LGBT community feel that way? Are there still

barriers preventing them from inclusion and acceptance
