Rhaenys_Targaryen
Has anyone noticed any "new world" foods at all? Pumpkins, zucchinis, tomatoes, turkeys etc. Does coffee count? Didn't Dany drink that in Qarth?
Ser Charles of Rosehaven
Sheldon is right. Kings don't get elected. They should have shouted: "The President in the North! The President in the North!" They are chosen by the god(s)
JonCon's Red Beard
Rhaenys was the flirt while Visenya was the seductress. Rhaenys was Aegon's favourite because he is a Conqueror... mmm....
Queen.Sansa.Lannister
I feel silly but I never noticed Arya warged a cat that followed her to the HoBaW in ADWD in her 'Blind Girl' chapter.
Deadlines? What Deadlines?
Has anyone noticed any "new world" foods at all? Pumpkins, zucchinis, tomatoes, turkeys etc. "Corn". Prior to european expansion in the americas, "corn" referred to any cereal crop, but I got the sense the books have the modern usage (maize). This could just be my bias. "Fiery dornish peppers" might refer to chiles.
Taenqyrhae
Salladhor expects the "red comet" to return, suggesting at least a rudimentary understanding of comets. I can't remember who said it, but in ACoK another character said something about how the comet will go away and won't come back during their lifetimes, so I think it's not that uncommon of knowledge that comets come back, but on very long orbits. JonCon's Red Beard
Speaking of knowledge, Cersei knows that sperm is made of hundreds of "little princes".
SnowHeart
This is Tyrion (I think) talking about Arya after she has disappeared: "If the Gods are good, she will forget she was ever a Stark. She will marry a burly blacksmith or a baker and live in peace" - its not the exact quote but basically what he said. Hot Pie and Gendry much? Taenqyrhae
Does coffee count? Didn't Dany drink that in Qarth?Nope, coffee came from Africa. The only New World foods I noticed were pecans, corn, beans, peppers, and pumpkins. Theon also mentions seeing a turkey at one point. cocoalover1956
It wasn't just the dresses that gave the blacks and the greens their names. Rhaenyra is the Princess of Dragonstone, which is all made of black stone. Alicent is from the Reach, first ruled by Garth Greenhand and known for its greenery. Taenqyrhae
Theon's second line in Game of Thrones is "It's a freak". Considering what he ends up being, I think that's kind of interesting possible foreshadowing.
Mrs.Grumpy
Jenny of Oldstones was an Ophelia. She had long hair and wore flowers in her hair. Smallfolk said she was half-mad and a witch. But I don't think she was mad.
