Myshkin
http://nyti.ms/1N7h2ay NYT says don't let stats ruin baseballNate Silver and crew counterhttp://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/dont-let-op-eds-ruin-baseball/Wow, Silver and company sure got defensive fast. I'm not sure I'm fully on board with what seemed to be their opinion of the typical non-stat driven fan, which basically boiled down to, "some people are just drunken troglodytes who want nothing more than to see big men hit little balls, and that's okay." smegma
Wanna trade? Also, one of us will be less sad after today. Note that I don't say happy.
Jaxom 1974
Not for all the lutefisk in the world. You'd still be coming out ahead with that much lutefisk though...
Inigima
It's the top of the first and the Orioles are already screwing the pooch.
Lightning Lord
Also, one of us will be less sad after today. Note that I don't say happy. Let's drink until we can't feel feelings anymore. Or until our brains tell us that we're watching our respective teams in different eras.
Nictarion
My Reds are off to a great start. 4-0! Against divisional opponents too. Pretty good for a team picked by many to come in last. I know it's only the first week of the season, but I like what I'm seeing. :D

Tyrion the Perfect
The A's are 3-2 to start. Combined stats for their 3 winning starting pitchers( Gray, Kazmir, and Pomeranz): 22 IP 0 Runs 4 Hits 3 Walks 19 Strike Outs If we can get Jarrod Parker back anytime soon from his TJ surgery, my A's might be OK after all. :cool4:
Ramsay B.
Yanks have tied it in the bottom of the 9th, 16th and now the 18th. This game is unreal. Both teams are depleting their bullpens.ETA: Yanks lose in the 19th inning. Ellsbury hits a leadoff single and doesn't attempt to steal off a knuckleballer for some weird reason. This season is dumb already.
Myshkin
Are you guys hearing this shit about the bench in the visitors dugout at Chase Field?
GrimTuesday
Wow. It may not have been a 19 inning slog like last night's Yankees game, but that was a pretty crazy 11 for the M's and the A's. Loved seeing Miller getting going right off the bat this season, especially after he sputtered out the gate last year.

Myshkin
??They've made it so that it angles upward, apparently making it so that your feet won't touch the ground when you sit on it. Basically it's a bench that can't be sat upon.
