cdawnb
No spoilers please because I'm not finished yet, but I'm halfway through episode 6 and still am not sure who the killer is. How long did it take you guys to fugure it out and were you surprised? The last episode. Other people might have picked up on it before me but it was a total surprise on my end. How long did it take you guys to fugure it out and were you surprised? I had no clue at all until the very end of episode 7. And I mean, literally, the very final shot of the episode was rather telling. They don't make it explicit until the final episode, though. I was definitely pretty surprised. HexMachina
How many episodes were there again? I had a bit of a suspicion the penultimate episode, yet was still pretty surprised at the reveal in the final episode. Looking forward to Monday now :) Rewatched Season 1 on our Sky Recorder while I was home in preparation

Maltaran
Well holy shit, that was a great opening episode. Indeed. I'm liking both of the lawyers already. Do we need to use spoiler tags for season 2 talk?
HexMachina
I would do, since the title of the thread doesn't have the *spoilers* inETas: Is this airing in the US at the same time (by which I mean it begins this week, not 9.p.m GMT) as the UK? Zorral
Indeed. I'm liking both of the lawyers already. Do we need to use spoiler tags for season 2 talk? Yes, since we're not going to be able to see it here until later in the year. If season 2 is like season 1, it would be a disappointment to know the big reveal before it happens. matt b
Big reveal? I thought season 2 was dealing with the aftermath? I think season 2 will go back and try to solve the Sandbrook case. Plus, probably dealing with some of the aftermath, and maybe some new mysteries. That's just a guess, though. ETas: Is this airing in the US at the same time (by which I mean it begins this week, not 9.p.m GMT) as the UK? No, we won't get it until March. No, we won't get it until March.Spoilers for episode 1 thenYour guess seems fairly accurate so far. People from the Sandbrook case have shown up, certain people in Broadchurch are acting weird, and the plea hearing of Joe Miller have taken place, where he pleads not guilty to Danny's murder. So it seems that yeah, more Broadchurch mysteries to uncover, Sandbrook stuff, and the trial. Oh, and of course all the personal stuff, like Ellie coping with everything, the Latimers getting through it, the pregnancy etc. Looks to be a great follow up season

How long did it take you guys to fugure it out and were you surprised? There was, I thought, an indirect but strong hint around the middle of Episode 7. red snow
Great start to the new series. It really doesn't feel forced at all, the new ideas being presented. The trial is a no-brainer really and considering the fact his wife was on the case and Tennant was the sole arresting officer I could see him getting away with a reduced sentence. I also like that the powerplay between prosecutor and defender is female lead - nice to see women in that role. The link to the sandford case makes a lot of sense and fits into why he moved to broadchurch - I'm curious to see where it goes. The scene with the dad and murderer's son was very unsettling and/or sad - is he succumbing to the same sickness as Joe or is he just missing his son. So possibly no mystery but the show seems to have effortlessly moved into interesting new directions - something a lot of shows with a single season concept struggle with. Here's hoping they can sustain/build-on the premier.

red snow
a few minutes into streaming the season 2 premiere and I remembered why I need subtitles to watch this show What's wrong with the accents, my lover? I'm probably used to it after leaving in that region a few years but I suspect I'd have more trouble with Tennant. They are mixing it up with some welsh accents too.
