Personally, I'd be annoyed if the three illustrations of Dragonstone where the same, since that would invalidate the image I have "in my head". Lord Varys Posted January 16, 2015 Share Posted January 16, 2015 THB, try this: Frodo is a fat, fifty-year old, conservative Hobbit at the outset of the book, not a twenty-somewhat big-eyed baby face with three facial expression. Even if we assume the One Ring stopped is aging process despite the fact that he never put it on in the 17 years he waited in the Shire, he would still thirty-three years old.
