R+L=J v.131

So at this point, based on what we know through the first five books, I'm assuming there's pretty broad agreement that R+L=J is correct?

I think it's automatic at this point.

Just a matter how how/when it's revealed.

I'm new. Is there a large contingent of non-believers?

This theory seems so solid.

There are always those who want to try to come up with a logical alternative, but there are too many holes in those lines of thought.

If you take RLJ to be true, all the events and timelines align. If you try to make Jon & Daenerys Twins, or replace Jon with Daenerys (or anyone) then certain known timelines do not align.

You're more than welcome to read through the previous 130 threads and review all discussions! (Lord knows I haven't!!!)

And welcome to the forums!

In any forum like this one, some people who by their nature are contrarians will convince themselves that whatever the majority believes must be wrong. Some other people simply don't like the theory for different personal reasons (usually along the lines of not wanting Jon to end up being anything other than Ned's son).

I think anyone who really looks at the evidence closely has a difficult time concluding anything other than RLJ. Each alternative seems to result in new questions that cannot be answered adequately. But no theory, not even RLJ, garners 100% support on the boards.

I guess we know who put the 'RL' on that pillar in Castle Black.

I can't believe I watched the clip and didn't see that. Too funny.

When was that?

A game of Thrones the Wights they brought in from the north. The first Wights we see in the series, Jon burns his hand. Castle black is south of the wall. Not to mention what if the Others and Wights are going in different directions or in different places would the wind get confused and not know where to blow? Some are north some are south, some are over there and over here, and one is in a van down by the river.

When the Wind comes out of the North you will have Others and Wights. Probaby some magical wind that comes out of the land of always winter aka Christmas town.

Anyway the Wights were locked away on the warm day because Jeor wanted Aemon to have a chance to examine them. As the sun began to set a wind out of the North began to rise and with it came the Cold.

Jon also had what would appear a prophetic dream about the Dead rising in the Crypts of Winterfell the night before the dead rose at Castle black.

I believe that Jon will take his security seriously in the future. They certainly would not have tried it if Ghost had been with Jon.

I think this is the main important point of the whole stabbing. Mel warned him to keep his wolf close, and he locked him up to ease the tension between everyone. Like stop being such a good guy or you will end up like Ned. Keep your giant direwolf nearby, stay safe, and stop assuming everyone is noble just because you are. Survival of the fittest includes learning from past mistakes!

Sorry but this is pretty much the only time I was furious at Jon in all 5 books. Mel is not right about everything but this point she was making was kind of obvious and she was 100% correct, and I dont know if it was hubris or what he was thinking to not keep Ghost with him, but it was by far the biggest and dumbest mistake he has ever made.

Well, now we need the detractors to explain that away.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It doesn't mean anything.

People are reading too much into it.

It's wishful thinking.

That's not an "R", it's a "P".

It's to trick the fans.

It's too obvious.

...did I miss any?
