Cricket; 27 Not Out...

Dilshan will get the wickets , they will end on similar points most likely .

Problem iS I only picked him as a batsman for some reason, so I get no points for his bowling. :bang:

Gotta say those Scottish boys are putting up a fight. Preserve those wickets and they could give SL a scare.

Edit: Also, where the fuck is Paxter during this WC?

Was wondering that meself.

Alex tipped me to this fantastic shitstorm yesterday, where swivel-eyed conspiracy theory and moralistic gas-bagging meet to create total assholery: Alcoholic Dumps Zim Out of WC (I have used donotlink for that URL, because fuck them.)

The Daily Fail is pretty gross in its character assassination, but stating that someone is a stain on the cricketing community because they're struggling with depression and substance abuse is some next-level shit.

Oh arse. I just saw that my SL bowler took three wickets. DOOM AND GLOOM

That's OK you are still safely in 12th position, though I think you did close the gap a tad on 11th. So you'll have to watch those picks lest you start climbing the ranks.

Sangakkara...

Fastest player to 12000 Test Runs

Best average since The Don

Most double hundreds

Second highest ODI run scorer and most fifties - most consecutive hundreds now

AND he's a bloody wicketkeeper with the most ODI dismissals ever. I'd say he's the best since Bradman.

Bit of a bugger that for the fantasy league you can only pick him as wicketkeeper or batsman. He is a pretty amazing player.

:P

I almost picked Mommsen as my captain. I would not have been best pleased.

Lots of movement in the ranks this time. Funny how that match, of all of them, became a make-or-break for so many teams.

ETA: re your later comment. I agree that this is a weakness in the system. I can see why they did it -- it has to do with point allocation* -- but it's still annoying.

*an all rounder will get more points for taking a wicket than a bowler.

I'm 11th and scored 905.

X-Ray scored 344. Pretty sure it's 10th that needs to watch out.

Captain Sangakarra, Mathews, Davey and Kulasekera were the inspired participants. Now onto the next 5 transfers for South Africa, when I already have Faf, Amla, Tahir and De Villiers in my team...

You take wickets in the world cup and you will no longer be accused of rape

To be fair the article says the charges are only "of making false promises of marriage." Not sure if that false promise lead to sex or not, which of course could then be regarded as rape undere the law. But in terms of the article you've linked there is no explicit mention of rape.

Still I condemn Ms Happy's lawyer for kicking her to the curb like that. What an arsehole. Suggest to me that Ms Happy's decision may not have been completely uncoerced.

According to Cricinfo's FAQ players will 'score points based on their contribution to the game irrespective of the skill you have selected'. Given that, I'm not really sure what the point of picking skills is.

It was a respectable performance from Scotland but I don't think they ever really looked chasing down that total. They had matched the Sri Lankan score in the early overs but I don't think they'd have been able to accelerate in the same way especially with several wickets down.

Probably just to make sure you pick bowlers and batsmen and that specialist wicketkeepers don't get left totally out. But it does seem odd that they then give some players 2 skills for you to pick (specialist or all rounder). Maybe the captain bonus is only linked to the skill you choose? If there is actually no particular consequence to choosing the person's specialist skill vs all rounder then having 2 skills for a person seems only to serve to allow you to pick a nominal allrounder as a specialist so you can fill one of the obligatory specialist spots. Which basically means you can pick a 100% allrounders team and still fulfill the minimum specialist picks criteria. Makes this aspect all a bit pointless really.
