Well he has admitted it out loud. Even if it was to Mel, he has admitted it. I don't really agree with any of what your saying. I see Brienne being fully devoted in avenging Catelyns death, if she joins and finds a Stark in safety. I've predicted that all the Starks will meet back in Winterfell and on the show its shaping up that way. With Stannis looking very likely to take Winterfell in the books, I can see the North coming together under Rickon. Its speculation, but if it does happen, I see it playing out more to a ''Jaime situation''. She hates him at first and overtime grows to like him.

I actually agree that Brienne might end up serving Stannis for the sake of Catelyn and/or Sansa. Given their similar commitment to duty (and their potential conflicts over Renly and Jaime), I could even look forward to it. But it won't happen easily--She will have to confront her own romantic idea of duty when her sworn duties (including vengeance) conflict, and, as the heir to Tarth, likely have to swear an oath of fealty to the man who murdered her one acknowledged love. Since this would force her to confront the limitations of her moral code and force her to choose among conflicting principles, it makes sense for her as a character. However, I still think it would take an extraordinary amount of trust for Stannis to admit to the act of kinslaying. Show-Stannis has explicitly admitted it to his accomplice (Mel) and perhaps tacitly owned up to his most trusted advisor (Davos, when they discuss sacrificing Gendry), but he can count on their continued secrecy and loyalty. It would be much more difficult to have such confidence in Brienne.

and who the bloody hell is Stanis? Maybe Westerosi spelling is no more standardized than English was in the Middle Ages? :dunce:

As a bonus, here's a whacky tin-foil theory: what if Stannis takes on the Stoneheart role in Brienne's arc around episode 10: "Thank you for bringing lady Sansa, her sister, and the Turncloak to my camp. Pod is my guest and my hostage. Prove you are loyal to your rightful king by bringing me the Kingslayer." I don't know why Stannis would place a priority on Jaime at this time, but D&D have made just enough mistakes, especially with Stannis, that I think there is a slight chance they'll do this.

It seems the papers were given a press release this morning with Natalie, Kit, Sophie, Aiden and Mark on it which is concerning if they are the only main cast to show up. I would have expected more from a UK based cast to a UK premiere.

That's weird. Maybe the rest are going to the Red Carpet LA premiere on Monday.

My favorite being replaced by my other favorite? no, no. I want them both.

I really think Stannis has waaay too much in his storyline to put Bri there too. We're probably not even getting Battle of Ice this season, so there is no time for D&D's fanfiction.

There's always time for D&D fanfiction, as proven last year.

On the Stannis replaces Stoneheart front, that's too much of a stretch imo. Stannis has no reason to focus on Jaime at this point.

Ok, D&D's own glorious original writing. Better ? :P

"Show-only material" is the simplest and most neutral way to put it, to my mind.

I'm by no means saying y'all oughtn't criticise the writing, only that we shouldn't equate material with GrrM's seal of approval with things without it. Just a nitpick really but I consider it an important one.

Isn't the press just interested in the main cast anyway?

For that matter the cameras are only interested in what female main cast members are wearing on the Red Carpet. (The heck with the male cast!)

Well I am twisted and not rich enough to be Switzerland, so there's that.

It's fair though, you're technically right.
