lovelikeangels Posted March 23, 2015 Share Posted March 23, 2015 I just finished ADWD and whilst reading Dany's last chapter, it struck me after she woke up and she was bleeding from her crotch that MAYBE she had the pale mare? She'd been drinking from that stream and vomming and pooping all day and then suddenly she was bleeding, but it wasn't her time of month to be doing so. Thoughts? She would rather be doing it while pooping, which it wasn't the case. Also, looks like Dany wasn't even sure when her period should occur nor was very frequent. She convinces herself that it is actually just her period but she can't remember having it in a few months. Some women keep getting pregnant and miscarry all the time, it just recently doctors found a way to treat some of the conditions that cause that such internal scarring and fibroids. Maybe the reason that Targaryens do the incest thing because full blooded Targ women can't have children by non Targaryen men..? Especially once the woman has bonded to a dragon? Danny is very different from other women,, being a little resistant to fire, and maybe there is magic in Targ "Blood of the Dragon" blood. ....maybe only a baby from a "Dragon" Targ man can survive being born of a Targaryen Dragon woman.... so if she would get pg from anyone else, miscarriages would happen... Maybe MMD,from her training knew this somehow, and thinking there are no other Targs alive, assumed Danny would never be able to have children....and just out of spit let her think it was an absolute truth...she wasn't a very nice person.. but if this is correct, she would be able to have children if she found a Targ male. otherwise [spoiler] maybe once bonded to a dragon, you can't live without them.... and if reunited with them, normal functions start up again.... Start with Daella Targaryen - pure Targ woman married Rodrick Arryn (non-Targ) had a girl child Aemma Arryn who married next King Viserys and had a healthy girl Rhaenara (who started Dance of Dragons). (Its not clear that Daella had a dragon but at that time, every Targ pretty much had a dragon, might as well assume that. Frankly speaking after that - there were none of completely "pure Targs" females left, most of them were combined with Arryn, Hightower, and Velarion bloodlines. Princess Rhaenara, daughter of King Viserys I, had 3 healthy sons by Harwin Strong (non-Targ, non-Valyrien minor Westeros noble) and she had an adult dragon by that time. After that she had 2 healthy sons by Daemon, and her final child - a daughter by Daemon was stillborn.
