NymeriaWarriorQueen
Here's the weekly "Why Game of Thrones sucked tonight"1.) They left out the entire fucking point of the Maggy the Frog prophecy scene, the Volanqar. Why bother with the flashback if you're going to cut the most important part?!2.) No stench at Tywin's funeral, way to take out the fucking best part.3.) No Illyrio despite staying at his fucking house4.) Varys just casually revealing his organization and its motives to Tyrion, fuck off D&D. And what's this defending the downtrodden nonsense from him? He's a fucking Targ loyalist. Not to mention they're having him go off on Tyrion adventures instead of staying in King's Landing and owning shit up like he should. Fucking character assassination.5.) Missandei and Grey Worm bullshit STILL. STILL. STILLLLLLL. Really D&D?! You have to cut Euron, Victarion, Wyman, Aegon, Connington, and nearly everything else that makes the most-ASOS books interesting yet you still have the time to include fucking Missandei and Grey Worm scissoring?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?6.) Characterizing the Faith Militant has some sort of fanatical homophobic ISIS instead of the charitable people's army of war refugees they are in the book. D&D are unable to place themselves in a medieval society, instead inserting the "Hurrrr religion bad" 2015 worldview into somewhere it doesn't even belong. Believe it or not, the Faith Militant/Sparrows are not meant to be antagonists unless you're Cersei.7.) Oh look, it's Loras. I wonder how long until D&D reference that he's gay. Oh, that was about 1 minute. You realize in the books it's just heavily implied Loras is gay and he has an actual personality/character traits besides being a running gay joke/reference? D&D are unable to take characters outside of their diversity quota mold.8.) Brienne actually ran into BOTH Stark girls by sheer coincidence. Do D&D think Westeros is the size of Disneyland or something?!9.) What the fuck is with this bullshit Sansa-Winterfell storyline. You know they're going to Winterfell based on the trailer. So Stop trying to force "Dark Sansa" (I didn't even coin this fucking bullshit cringey term) down our throats and stop making LF out to be an idiot. Fucking strong independent women Sophie Turner bad acting bullcrap.10.) Mereen ALREADY FUCKING SURRENDERED. BRAVO D&D. There goes the entire battle of book 5 and half of its material. Why even bother with the Sons of the Harpy when Yunkai is doing nothing?! This is so nonsensical, first they're desperate for Dany material to adapt then they take out her biggest fucking challenge after arriving in Slaver's Bay. I guess this season will just be Dany bitching about MUH DRAGONS again.11.) That fucking stupid kid that killed Ygritte is a recurring character now? Oh fuck off with that crap. I bet they'll have him kill Stannis, Jon, and the Night's King while they're at it.12.) There's no indication or foreshadowing that really wasn't Mance, like in the books. If they killed him off for good, fuck you D&D.Don't worry folks, I'll be here all season, reminding you why the books are better.Well said but it's all for naught. I'm 62 years old and there hasn't been a movie or TV series in my lifetime that have ever been better than the book. I guess that's why I love books over TV and movies. I have read the Outlander series too by Diana Gabaldon too and spent yesterday complaining about last night's episode and how it differed from the book. Again.....NOTHING IMO is ever as good as the book! Btw......can we safely assume now that Young Griff/Ageon is nothing more than a pretender or gets killed in the book? I'm assuming he isn't important enough to make it to series.
lostinwesteros
I honestly can't get over the fact that our intro to Dorne this season is via Loras' dangerously cancerous-looking moleHonestly, if that shit is shaped like an independent kingdom you should have it checked by a Maester ASAP  They're keeping Tormund - yay! Loved all the Jon Snow focus....I see Mel is as :ack: as usual (Are you a virgin, Jon?) Can't wait till Arya and the HBW
Emperoreddy
I don't know this episode sure seem to indicate that Mance job is about to be taken over by Jon. At least the whole leading the wildling army thing. I really doubt there will be any involvement with Winterfell. Based on the end? Didn't this go down similar to the books, but just with Jon shooting himself instead of ordering others to kill "Mance"

HouseHarrison
You know you don't have to watch the show, right? No one's forcing you. How will I explain how are the books are better then?! The Scabbard Of the Morning
Yeah, it seemed kind of obvious with the whole "You get three questions." And baby Cersei has only so far asked two. She asked 3 questions: When will I wed the Prince? I will be Queen? Will I have children with the King?
Emperoreddy
Was that note Baelish got .... A Tywin is dead, this changes everything. B Roose Bolton saying, do you have a Northern girl for hire? C Stannis in in the North and he means to take it D All of the Above Almost forgot about the note. Sounds like D to me, but if Sansa is going to be FArya, and LF brokered it. How? What? I'm not sure how this will all work.
Emperoreddy
She asked 3 questions: When will I wed the Prince? I will be Queen? Will I have children with the King? Is she being THAT literal to count the natural follow up question? I figured that one didn't count.

Bastard of Boston
Like many, I found the show's version of Mance to be way too dour and one-note. Good riddance. On a show where screen time is such precious real estate, Mance eating up scenes is the last thing I'm interested in. Maybe if the show endeavored to make him as nuanced as the books did, I wouldn't be so cold towards the character. While I get that they need to find some motivation for Varys if they cut Aegon, the "good of the realm" stuff made me queasy. Surely, they can make up something better than that. I am not a book Nazi, so I harbor no real resentment for any changes D&D may make, but if they make the "Master of Whisperers" a magnanimous character, I'm going to hope for a meeting between he and the Red God as well. Then again, maybe prolonged exposure to Tyrion allows for characters to catch his disease of instant purification. Dinklage is great, but I've become bored with Tyrion on the show. I'm bored with him in the books as well, but his shadiness can make him an interesting read, where as the lovable underdog archetype is tiring. Young Cersei was perfectly cast. The actress managed to channel 4 seasons worth of vileness in one scene. Despite this post's negative tone, I'm still excited the show is back! These season openers always tend to be a chore...not much to talk about.

jobmartell
Was that the first flashback seen we've seen in GoT? So: glamour or no? No "little brother" or just later in another flashback? Grey worm story line is the new Shae hate. Dinklage killed it. Also, Varys spilled his entire plate of beans, in like 13 seconds. Sweet robin, hilarious. Any ideas on where LF and Sansa are heading? Got nothing.

A follow up question is still a question. Will I be Queen is not the same question as "When will I wed the Prince".
lostinwesteros
Almost forgot about the note. Sounds like D to me, but if Sansa is going to be FArya, and LF brokered it. How? What? I'm not sure how this will all work. I forgot about it, too. I thought it was simply that Tywin was dead (it was a short note). Can't imagine LF taking Sansa anywhere near Roose/Ramsay, as protective of her as he is, but then it sure did seem they were headed for Winterfell. Morgul-Blade
I'm dreading this Grey Worm love plot that's bound to happen this season. Much dread.
lostinwesteros
How bout Margery's response to Loras's "You'll be stuck here in KL with Cersei for a Mother"? Spoke volumes with two words and an expression.
roxWolfox
No one really cares. Just hug your precious books. Maybe it will make you feel better. You know you don't have to watch the show, right? No one's forcing you. Best advice I can give is either to use your ignore preference button (which can be found through your profile), or learn to recognise certain names of posters who post the same thing after every episode, year after year...and then scroll past them. No need for giving them attention. ;) Edited April 13, 2015 by roxWolfox
