Tall Tyrion Lannister!
I honestly hate how they are doing Dorne on the show. But then I asked my show-only friend and she said that she likes the Dornish tory and that she doesn't mind that the characters are not fully developed, so I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting. I even asked her if she understands the motives of the characters and she seemed to have a good idea of what was happening. It's odd, I like Sand Snakes ion the book and don't care for Doran and Hotah, it's the exact opposite in the show.
MordredDayne
This is what happens when you remove the most important character (Arianne) from the Dorne plot and keep the least important (the Sand Snakes) and then don't bother to give them any more character depth even though you've largely increased their presence. What boggles my mind was just how mediocre that fight was. I mean, they've given us nothing but bro trip chuckles and melodrama all season, at least they could do was give us an epic fight, but it just fell so flat. I've seen high school plays with better fight choreography. I mean, I know it's a tight shooting schedule, but damn. You can't tell me that the director looked at the final cut of that sequence and said "Brilliant, just how I pictured it." and if he did then he needs to be fired right now. Glad Komrad
Regrettably, I agree that the Sand Snakes are just awful. I still had hope going into this episode, but that's gone by the wayside. Dorne has been the weakest storyline of the entire series. I liked Ellaria in the previous season, but her transformation into the leader of the Darkstar Sisterhood is beyond ridiculous. It also makes zero sense that the Sand Snakes would want Mercella dead, when it'd be far easier to start a war by crowning her. They want revenge for Oberyn, but didn't know he believed in a Dorne that "does not hurt little girls." Justice for his sister's death was his entire aspiration. Worse off, the character exposition of the Sand Bunnies has been atrocious. Has anyone else noticed that Obara has now announced herself to an audience of people that should know exactly who she is, and her entire upbringing, twice now. If this trend continues, she can next explain to Doran, "I'm Obara Sand, daughter of your brother, trained in spear-fighting, niece to you, fighting for Dornish pride! How can you, my uncle, imprison me, your niece, in Dorne, the most Southern country in all of Westeros?" Good-riddance. Seriously, no other character in the entire series introduces them-self this way. What happened? The writers for Obara and friends didn't just drop the ball, they are burying it. Eucratides_Megas
Calling Show Brienne a thug is beyond ridiculous. Is every warrior who kills to defend themselves, protect the innocent, or avenge the dead a “thug”? I'm talking about the way she does it. She never tries to avoid violence. BookBrienne actually tried to avoid getting into a fight, she didn't relish them with outright bloodlust at times. She even felt bad about killing a crazy clown rapist. She was a nobler character. ShowBrienne is so easygoing with killing people left and right you wonder how she got started. I'd be surprised if Tarth weren't full of mysteriously missing squires. Her first on-screen kills she dispatches so ruthlessly, her only mourning spared for Renly. Compared to BookBrienne, ShowBrienne is a slightly nicer version of the Hound with honor. Eucratides_Megas
bwahahaha http://i.imgur.com/UPcmC7b.gif Oh god I love Bronn. God bless you Bronn, deflator of swollen egos with really bad, over the top nicknames. Hell, even Obara seemed to be struggling with friggin Goldhand Jaime Lannister. Obara couldn't best Ser Jaime after the cut. That's how bad she sucks. Ellaria's "Oh shit....." expression was nice, but honestly I would've cheered if they executed her right there. She is not Ellaria Sand, she's a vile harpy of an impostor and deserves to die for wanting to harm an innocent girl for her stupid revenge plan, which included putting her daughter in harms way. So yeah: vile harpy and bad parent.
Balerion the one eared cat
The fact that their location on the map in the credits is generic city (is that meant to be Sunspear, or the Water Gardens?!) of "Dorne" kind of says it all. It's laughably bad. Three of the greatest fighters in Dorne, supposedly, against a sellsword and a guy without a sword hand?! Both of them trying to kidnap Myrcella in broad daylight, in the middle of a giant courtyard in plain sight of the Prince of Dorne? Yeah, brilliant plan. Ellaria Sand just... nope, I can't.Not to mention Myrcella Lollys Lannister... "oh no my fiancé kissed other girls before he knew I existed, what if they were prettier than me? wahwahwahwah...." Myrcella is a character I really like in the books. oh well, RIP Myrcella along with Dolorous Edd, Ellaria, Aegon, Barristan, Missandei, Mance, Myranda Royce... jet199
Why didn't they just let them keep the scarves up over their faces and have proper stage combat women do the fight scene. Costume and choreography depts need to start communicating with each other.
Natalia Borgia
I've assumed since the casting was announced that the writers wanted to build up the Sand Snakes, given their presumptive roles in the KL plot, etc., in the following season. With that in mind, I've found this season baffling so far. The only Sand Snake who's gotten anything like characterization is Obara, the only one of the three who isn't bound for KL -- Nym and Tyene have said, what, a sentence apiece? I don't think they are going to KL in the new and better Ding and Dong version of the story.

Hangover of the Morning
Something is seriously wrong with a Dornish storyline when the Axe with the camera is the most exciting part of it. I'd forgive the cringe-worthy dialogues, horrible acting and ridiculous fighting scenes but the plot holes are harder to swallow. The whole storyline makes very little sense and so far has done nothing to add to the main plot or Jaime's character development.

Mingolla
I've assumed since the casting was announced that the writers wanted to build up the Sand Snakes, given their presumptive roles in the KL plot, etc., in the following season. With that in mind, I've found this season baffling so far. The only Sand Snake who's gotten anything like characterization is Obara, the only one of the three who isn't bound for KL -- Nym and Tyene have said, what, a sentence apiece? The "introduction" of Nym and Tyene is the worst writing the show ever done. There is barely any introduction or writing at all. But same can be said about whole Dorne. It just serve as a background to the Jaime/Bronn nonsensical adventure. It is absurd. Not all liked bookDorne, but those who did liked the family dynamic between various Martells/Sands. Its completely missing from showDorne. Doran, Trystane, Sand Snakes - they dont even talk to each other, there was not a single interaction between them, not even between SS. This is what happens when you remove the most important character (Arianne) from the Dorne plot and keep the least important (the Sand Snakes) and then don't bother to give them any more character depth even though you've largely increased their presence. The main problem is the execution. If they cast Arianne instead of SS and handled her same way as they do with SS, all we would get would be two scenes. First would be a full frontal nudity sex scene with some anonymous lover, followed by lover´s question if she liked him. Arianne would not answer, but she would give out of place monoloque to the audience explaining who she is. Second scene would be her catching Jaime and Bronn and convincing them to have an orgy with her instead of taking Myrcella away. Why didn't they just let them keep the scarves up over their faces and have proper stage combat women do the fight scene. Costume and choreography depts need to start communicating with each other. Yes, exactly. All participants had clothes that seemed to be designed for use of stunt doubles. It could be an awsome fight scene, instead of the second worsts (Yunkai battle was beyond ridiculous, 3 main characters surounded by enemies won offscreen, because obviously no stun team could possibly make their victory realistic). And it was not just the fight scene, whole thing was extremely lazy. For example Nym kidnaping Myrcella. Vikings had similar scene with Ragnar kidnaping French princess and it was an amazing atmospheric scene with great direction and excellent use of music. GoT did basically same scene worse then CW show would do (that is not an exxageration, some scenes on The 100 were X times better then both scenes with SS. Glad Komrad
My theory is that Doran was getting extremely bored watching the children at play so he allowed for Jaime and Bronn to attempt their foolhardy plan unhindered, leaving the backdoor open for the Sand Bunnies, just to watch the hilarious scene unfold from his comfy chair on the balcony above. Surprise, Areo arrives just in time to send everyone off to bed. It sure beats chasing all the fools around Dorne, and has it's own entertainment value. Betcha! He's gonna release them all, just to watch them do it again. He's a real joker, that Prince Doran.

Costume and choreography depts need to start communicating with each other. Or just hire three stunt women. They haven't done any actual acting yet anyway. Maybe that's being saved for next season? naseridrl
I was so disappointed when it was clear there would be no Arianne but now we've seen Dorne I really don't mind at all. I think if they'd taken more time to introduce Dorne and not just had these crazy set pieces that are so over the top it might ave been a little bit better but the writing is just so terrible for most of Dorne, especially the cartoon power ranger Sand Snakes. People like Varma and Siddig are good actors but thats just being squandered. I actually thought KCH wa a good actress in the past, but I don't think anyone could sell the stuff she has to say.
