Best Episode of the Show yet, easily, and I don't take that lightly at all. This season has been a bummer for me really in general. They've been catching up to the books, the final two less exciting books, and the changes they've been making, some sensical, some so far terribly nonsensical, have left me with little to be excited about. Ive been awaiting the big book climaxes, and those are coming, but even still I've been worried some the changes might leave them neutered. But this episode CHANGED ALL OF THAT in my mind. It gave us excellent, lead ups for stuff we expect to come, finally, but far more importantly, it gave us a massive non book sequence, that showed this show is moving at full steam towards something we've been waiting sooooooo long for, and it was perfectly realized.

The only thing even sweater than this episode's actual content, was the taste it left in my mouth for next week, and the week after, to see the remaining iconic moments from the published material realized with some well renewed trust and faith, and faith in some of the changes as well.

I still cant be sure Sansa and the Dorne stuff will shape up, give us what they can from their book counterparts memorable climaxes, but for Danny, Jon, Arya, Cersei, and Bolton vs Baratheon stories, the new and old alike are finally looking to collide to deliver us some climaxes I can hardly breath when I think about.

I'm desperate not to be let down, but I really don't think I will be foe the first time this year.

Godspeed GRRM, get Book 6 done before next season!!!!!!!

I cracked up when Qyburn went to see Cersei.

"What are the charges?"

"Fornication, treason, incest, murder of King Robert"

Cersei cuts in - "All lies"

Qyburn quickly replying "Of course Your Grace"

The way he says it was more like *cough*bullshit*cough* :lmao:

Was an amazing episode. I suppose people will always find things to complain about, but I was on the edge of my seat for those last 30 minutes. Everything else seems so small compared to the WW problem. It was a great battle scene and the fact we finally got to see Daeny and Tyrion talk and interact made it a great episode.

I enjoyed last weeks too honestly. But this one was one of the best episodes on television I've seen in quite sometime. 10/10

A solid 9. Honestly in my opinion the battle itself was probably the weakest part of the episode. There wasn’t really a weak weak point though. Dany and Tyrion exchanges were great, Arya’s scenes I think are quite enjoyable, they didn’t overdo it and they didn’t under-do it either. I absolutely hate Sansa in Winterfell and in my opinion D&D couldn't possibly misfire and mess a POV character and their development up anywhere near as bad as that. Dorne in all off its cheesy, silly, anti-climactic, and intelligence insulting glory isn't as bad a decision as Sansa in Winterfell (I think) and I actually enjoyed seeing the exchange between Sansa and Threekon. I was happy to finally see the wights in action, and not so surprised with the potential TWOW/ ADFS spoiler that Valyrian steel does in fact work the same as dragon glass for killing the others.

As far as gripes go I think Olly’s potential role coming up is being shoved in everyone’s faces. I also felt it was kind of cheesy for Ramsay to suggest he was going to leave a “Feast for the Crows.” “Because Superman IV: The Quest for Peace!” On top of that, I did think as hyped as this episode has been the battle was a little too short and the sin of overly shaky camera work was committed a little too much for my liking. Good action but if they knew season 5 was going to include this battle Neil Marshall really should have been booked in advance. I also didn’t like introducing the female wildling character just to kill her off though, the death and un-death really meant nothing.

To me this just doesn’t stand up to Blackwater or The Watchers on the Wall. Best episode of the season though by far.

And that is what GoT's should look like!

I am amazed this forum is still functioning. Best episode of the show, so far, IMO.

@Kimim

Yeah, if the after credits convo, Benioff confirms it was the Night's King. He actually says it kind of casually too, which made me laugh.

I mean, the dude is wearing a crown. So I doubt he thinks he's giving much away.

Same with the Valyrian Steel = Dragon Steel = Effective against White Walkers. Is this a shock to anyone?

i disagree but "grease fire" made me sort with laughter :)

Cheers!

I don't always agree with people's impressions, ratings, etc. but I appreciate their views and opinions regardless of mine and I'm desperately hoping the quality from here on out resembles this episode and not the others this season. Episodes like this are SO much fun to watch

meant to rate 9/10 but clicked 8.. #fail..

Best episode of this series for sure.

As a book-reader it is an interesting feeling to have chills running through you as you watch; not quite being sure what will happen next :)

Not that it's imperative, but I think you can change it if you want

Had to finally post just to say that was incredible.

Fantastic to see that the rumor that dragon glass isn't the only weapon that can damage the walkers. That scene was just terrific.

There's a crown? Looks like a bunch of thorns on his scalp are having a meeting

So the best rated episode this season is the one with zero scenes in Dorne. Not surprised.

So true

10 out of mother fucking 10. That one of the most amazing hours I've ever witnessed on television, It's certainly a contender for one of the best episodes of the show's history, in the most lackluster season of all no less. Hard to believe that the guys who came up with the execrable idea of Sansa's rape, wrote an impeccable episode like this. The last half hour in Hardhome was fucking mind-blowing. Bravo to anyone involved from the writers, actors and director, to the special effects guys, and set designer.

Was awesome. I almost wish they could pretend Dorne and Littlefinger don't exist any more. What the hell is the point? Show us the real war. As always, the best scenes and the best action always takes place in the North. Their penchant for killing off people who aren't supposed to be dead even made me legitimately fear Edd and Wun Wun were toast. Not often you can get real suspense when you basically know what's going to happen.

For the show, they could probably benefit from abandoning Porne and BatFinger.....

For the books, the journey is just as/if not more enjoyable to read than the endgame
