Jay21
Jon's not AA, Jon's the 'Sword in the Dark'. Rhaegar Targarian is AA reborn but no one realises that he's been up North playing Mance Rader for the last 20 odd years. When Mel tries to see AA but only sees Snow she's in fact seeing AA, she doesn't realise that she's looking at Ramsay Snow not Jon Snow. of course Ramsay's not really Ramsay, Able (Mance Rhagar) controls WF and sent the Pink Letter and Ramsay's either chained up or flayed or dead. That's why Mel thinks that she sees snow when she's looking for AA.What?!? In the books there are glamours present (often in rubies, rubies much like the ones from Rhaegar's armour) for Mance's fake burning that he still has access to after the fact. Unbeknownst to Mel, Rhaegar Targarian has been using glamours since old Lady Whent's tourney at Harrenhall where he used them to alter Lyanna's voice while she was playing at being the Laughing Knight. jbob
This may be a little out of topic, but I don't understand why Melisandre needs so much bloodshed for reaching her goals/doing her magic, while her colleague Thoros of Myr seems to be doing fine without it. Are we to believe that Mel isn't that good as a red priest or she uses those burnings to get rid of people, she doesn't like (she clearly do not like Shireen - neither in the books nor in the show). That's something, that was bothering me while reading the books and it just came back after watching this episode. I mean, bringing someone back from the dead is pretty advanced magic and Thoros needs only a prayer for it. Mel seems to need to burn something living (even if it's only leeches) for everything she does. Different people. Different ambitions. Different personalities and sense of morality. Thoros only recently started even believing in R'hllor. He probably doesn't even know as much about the religion as Mel does. There are other characters who seem to have better insight than Mel in books. Like Moqorro for instance. The stuff with Beric was completely accidental. He doesn't even know why it works. He just does the same thing over and over again. But Mel is burning people alive not only because it what she thinks her god wants. But also to get the R'hllor to give them miracles. I don't think she's done anything to bring people back from the dead.
jet199
There is nothing that indicates Thoros only recently started even believing in R'hllor. He was sent to convert Robert so I doubt he is unversed in the religion.

He was sent to convert Robert so I doubt he is unversed in the religion. He said himself he didn't really believe here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhOVUl1OzSs&t=2m25s And he's described as: He earned his priesthood but was never overly pious due to his tastes for fighting, drinking and women. Here: http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Thoros He's someone who never took the job seriously. He's basically the Ron Weasley of the religious order. He's completely different from Moqorro and Mel. Especially in the books.
Fylimar
Jbob: thank you for answering my question. It would be nice to see, how Thoros would react to Mels burning sessions. I don't think he would be amused. In the books those two never met , if I remember correctly. And I agree, that Thoros is much more easygoing about his religion, than Mel and Moquorro. But he seems to have his own honour code, so I would think, that he would not start burning people, even if he would be more pious.

ShadowKitteh
ok..... here's what I have no idea what I'm talking about so....yeah: The boys are alone in Mereen. What up mah kittehs? :dunno: Hey Missandei. Melisandre sees JON in the ICICLES - (she's been digging looking in the wrong place!) not only is he AzorA, but his parentage as well (Why not now? But I'm fine with next season too.) which will make Shireen's sacrifice worth it, (noooooo, not really)... and that Lightbringer isn't one sword. It's is all Valeryan steel (and probably dragonglass too and whatever else can kill a WW.) Mel will tell Stannis, "The Lord of Light has made good on His promise, my King.", so that he heads to Winterfell, (even though she knows he will die, and is thankful he showed her the way to AzorA.) She heads back to the wall borrowing LF's wormhole. Dany lands in the grasslands, in the middle of the Khalasar. (Now that I can see that better visually in my SHOWmind's Eye, Dany doubles her army, and becomes Khalissi again!) Jon gets a request for provisions from Stannis (AND a pinkish letter? This part doesn't make sense to me.... after Hardhome it's almost comical in scope, so I won't be surprised if the letter doesn't happen.) Kill two birds with one stone? Jon and the Watch need MEN, if he can bring provisions, AND tell Stannis what's up, (don't kill the Boltons, we need them), though there's not much to be done with Sansa from Jon's end, unless Stannis lives through this, and can disolve the marriage (Stannis undo the law? wth?) - after they all save the world. Priorities, please. Theon will escape with Sansa. This is where they'll leave their storyline - until next season. Too bad they both weren't in Into The Woods. That would be hilarious. Next season we find they've been sheltering with Howland Reed. *Jamie says to someone who's been in Dorne, "We don't get to choose who we love." probably Myrcella. (In a perfect world, he'd take LF's wormhole back to KL, and say that to Cersei, followed by, "and I don't love you anymore. I love someone else." And thus Jamie is back on his book path.) *No idea how much of Jamie we'll get this ep (just his voice in Brienne's dream?) Cersei's "confession" wins some hearts and minds, so her walk is Mother's Mercy. (Best time ever to use the internet since everyone will be glued to their screens, and too dumbfounded afterwards to begin to get the energy for the rant that is racing through their brains.) Jon and Sam explain to the NW what's up: "HOLYSHITHARDHOME, Valeryan steel kills White Walkers, ARMYOFTHEFUCKINGDEADWILLBEHEREIN3...2...1, We need LIVE HUMANS to fight the WW & the AOTFD. In fact, if we don't get EVERY LIVE HUMAN ON THE PLANET to help, mankind will be extinct." (Yes, Olly, everyone.) AN EXTINCTION EVENT IS COMING. It's called Winter. So ALL the NW MEN get it, and are onboard. Stannis marches on Winterfell. So do Brienne and Pod. Arya steels herself to have a go at Meryn. "I am no one." And PUTS ON A NEW FACE. Internet shakes, but then all is fine because... NewArya goes to the brothel to be bait for Meryn Fucking Trant. He will choose her. She Needles him just in time. (The internet will DOUBLE break anyway because they'll finally allow our cute, badass little Maisie to look pretty for a minute but ZOMFG IS MAISIE BEING RECAST BECAUSE NEW FACE? (But will either change back *poof* the second he's dead, and she has to roll him off her and everyone's brain breaks because they don't know to be more HAAAAAAAA/EEEEEEEEEEEEW/MAN ON 18YEAROLD oh wait...)?????? and because OHNOES! Arya was nearly raped! D&D are so misogynist! Never mind that Arya is an ASSASSIN who just killed her would-be rapist, even though she put herself in that position on purpose - that purpose being murder and revenge.... so if she never asked ----- Seven Hells, this is becoming Schrödingers Cat From Hell Who Breaks The Internet. Next season we see Arya putting her fake face away, before The Man turns her blind. D&D having trolled everyone into believing they recast Arya... you know Maisie would be in on it. And then along came Olly....la la la...... Right as Jon is saying goodbye to him, Olly pulls AnOlly™, stabs Jon. Jon falls, Olly stabs him 2/3 more times before Alliser pulls him off. Jon closes his eyes. (I'd love if Mel walked in then, orders Olly taken out and burned immediately - burn them all - goes straight to Jon, kisses him, and he's ALIVE - but I think that will be the cold open for S6, then after credits is what's left of Stannis's Army?) Brienne and Pod find Stannis, alone in the woods, freezing, and exhausted. Brienne kills him. They turn around and reveal....... Mother's Mercy herself, Lady Stoneheart.... and her boys. End Credits Internet dies. End of line. Then.... if I were George... I'd have Jon be able to warg an Ice Dragon. (It will most likely be Bran in the show, since we've yet to get any hint of that for Jon. Bran will be HeWhoWargsWhatHeWants,BITCH.) I have to say - THAT^^ is an awful lot for one hour. Looking on IMDB at the cast for this ep - the only face not seen this season is Balon Greyjoy..... I've already got too much to fit into an hour... yikes! Perhaps stabby is next season?
