Bronn Urgandy
The ones I talk to normally had disgust over the Shireen burning, I think the show fucked up because its not just disgust and outrage and anger at Stannis, its more disgust to the point where they don't care whats going to happen next because the storytelling was, frankly, shit. I also got blamed because, no matter how much I tell people that the show is changing and going beyond the books, I always talked up Stannis as being a decent lad at the end of the day, I had to explain that 1. it hasn't happened yet and 2. at this stage its highly unlikely Stannis will order. Nothing else got mentioned, and the show has lost another 2 viewers. My facebook newsfeed had precisely 3 people who loved the episode, the child burning was more of an afterthought to Drogon's appearance, which is fair enough, people enjoy what they enjoy. But that is currently an all time low for episode 9 reactions, for my newsfeed anyway.
Jellyfish
my friends all loved the episode despite being thoroughly shocked.but most sqid this had to happen given the foreshadowing. and they have lots of respec for KerryIngram, for all the actors actually, tey were all great beyond eevn the already high standards of the show. but the pit scene did not get the attention it deserved after that event though all of my friends loved itWe all are big fans of Peter Dinklage and Ian Glenn. Jorah's emotions in his face - the most underestimated actor.
Ugly Little Girl
My unsullied friends loved the episode and didn't find anything illogical (in relation to the story or characters) or confusing. My casual bookwalker friends were mostly positive about it but a few were angrier/more confused by the shireen story. It's fair to say to say that I haven't seem the level of anger, vitriol and bewilderment displayed on these forums anywhere else!
Night'sQueen
My unsullied husband was not surprised by the burning of Shireen, but was a little taken aback by my bawling about it. :crying: He criticized the SotH fight tactics -- couldn't understand why they were just standing around Dany & company and not slaughtering them (before Drogon got there). So many people i know have quit this "sadistic snuff film soap opera." And it really pisses me off, because its not fair to the books. I don't talk about the show at work anymore because I work at a university filled with SJW who think George RR martin is the feminist antichrist and two because people think its a show for weirdos who like to mix their porn with snufff films. Realism does not mean every horrible disgusting thing that could happen to the good guy/girl happens.

Realism does not mean every horrible disgusting thing that could happen to the good guy/girl happens. Funny that (the bolded parts), because no one who has paid any attention to the books would dare to say such things. This is what frustrates me the most about the show: 1) it is completely unfair to the books, and 2) has made each and every detractor of the show right. They all called it variations of "sadistic snuff film soap opera" from season 1. Once unfairly, now right on the money.

Nobody seems to care very much about Shireen one way or the other. All far more interested in Dany.

All far more interested in Dany. I had the opposite. Shireen burning shocked and disgusted pretty much every Unsullied I've talked to. Dany's runaway ride was a little startling for them too. "Did she leave her friends to die?" "Why isn't she saying dracarys and killing the masked guys?" "Where is she going?"

"Why isn't she saying dracarys and killing the masked guys?" "Where is she going?" Mine were split, some said it was to save Drogon 'cos he had took most of them down anyway. Most are big Dany fans. Eldric Storm
Honestly I wanted to stop watching during the Shireen burning. I was shocked and angry about it.
