Hannibal Cancelled- Mads Mikkelsen to be Euron?

Hannibal, the show in which Mads Mikkelsen is lead actor, has been cancelled in it's 3rd season.

Mads has been a fan favourite to portray Euron, Balon Greyjoys cruel and cunning older brother in the show but it's known that he couldn't because of his commitments to Hannibal.

Now Hannibal is out of the way and 'Pirate' casting spots have been sent out, I think Mads will be Euron for sure.

Agree?

Damn, just found out about this from your post. I really liked that show. Stupid ratings just never picked up no matter how much buzz the show got. :crying:

But yeah, if Mads is cast as Euron now that would be one good thing to come of this. D&D should really make a push to snatch him up.

Aside from Casino Royale and The Hunt, I can't say that I've ever really thought he gave an amazing performance in anything. Also, if Casino Royale and what I've seen from Hannibal is what Mads Mikkelsen can deliver then it's a little too animated and cartoonish for my tastes. I mean, I think that's why he was chosen to play a bond villain, no? -because it would be cartoonish and animated and over the top like most bond villains are? I just really hope they bring some character to Euron, whoever they choose because this show already has too many animated and cartoonish characters surviving and heading into Season 6. I mean we have Brienne, Ramsay, Sansa, Dany and the Sand Snakes to name the worst offenders. Brienne, Ramsay, and the Sand Snakes are the worst out of that group. At least Sansa and Dany started to have some depth during previous (granted, their stories/characters had no arc and no development this season.)

Just hope someone brings some humanity to Euron so he's not a walking cartoon like Brienne.

First, Hannibal is down but not out. That show is uniquely financed by its production company (Gaumont International Television) by pre-selling broadcast rights to various markets all over the world. NBC was paying the U.S. broadcast rights. There's a decent chance another partner will step in to pick up that tab.

Second, if Hannibal does continue it doesn't necessarily pose a conflict, though I can't speak for anything else Mads may have lined up. A potential season four for Hannibal would very unlikely commence filming prior to 2016, and Game of Thrones is filming July-December this year. If Euron is only needed for Season 6, "Hannibal" won't be the reason Mads can't do it.

Third, Hannibal is awesome and everyone should watch it.

I don't know, he has the looks but other than that?? He doesn't fit Euron at all... we'll ge another situation with Mance Rayder and Ciaran Hinds. Mikkelsen could be a great Randyll Tarly, an Umber, maybe even a Victarion, but Euron? Nope. From what I've seen of him I don't think he has the range to get Euron right.
