I can't say I have read the books, but plan on buying them this week. I love the show though and the characters. I can't wait to read the books. Just how much am i missing?Welcome to the boards! I do hope you get a chance to read the series, they are quite good and missing? Lol I think you should find out exactly how much of the story we don't see in the show, all the details that are getting removed.... Things aren't exactly how they are in the books... For those who don't know there are about ten single guys to every one single woman in the Colorado Mountains. Kind of like the wall, only with chairlifts and snowboards. I am a big fan of the Hound. I am a loooong time lurker here, and have always enjoyed reading everyone else's thoughts about this fantastic series. So much fun stuff to read here! I thought it may be time to join the conversation, so here I am.I currently reside in Northern California, however it looks like Texas is in my future. I spend much of my fun-time reading ( fantasy, historical fiction, classics to name a few genres), gaming on my X-Box (Mass Effect, Assassins Creed) and knitting (a much needed stress reliever). I am an animal lover with a dog and two pigs that I really try hard not to spoil...at least over spoil. :PI'm looking forward to mingling with everyone here!I grew up in Northern California and I live in Texas now. I started out watching the HBO show, then I decided to stop watching the show until I finished the books, then I decided to stop watching the show altogether... Anyway. I am still working my way through ADWD, and after that I plan to do a reread. I come to these forums when I need answers or clarification, because unfortunately I have not found anyone else IRL who I can have these types of discussions with. That is why I decided to stop lurking and start joining. I think I am generally aware of the rules/norms from lurking, but if there is anything else I should be aware of please inform me. :) (I was happy to find an introduction thread...
