We were both guttered and saddened when Ygritte was killed. They should bring her back, raise her from the dead.

I must hope Jon Snow did not accidentally shoot that arrow killing Ygritte in the battle for castle black. Somewhere someone did an analysis that Jon is lying to himself about it when he remembers he checked for the colour of the notching but he indeed took arrows colours-unchecked when his own ran out... that worries me:

With the confusion at the trapdoor, Jon had forgotten to fill his quiver. He limped back across the roof and did that now, and picked up his bow as well.

Hmm...such a hard question, LF, Varys, Arya, Syrio, Tyrion, Mance, Davos, Egg, Brienne, Doran, Tywin, Aemon, Sam, they're all so intriguing. But I'll have to go with Arya, I'm always looking forward to Arya's chapters the most. And amongst the non-POV characters: Varys, awesomely Machiavellian like LF, but a little more mysterious, and a little less pedo.

There's a line from AGOT that on my 4rth & 5h reread hints to me of his possible downfall. It's Catelyn reminiscing to Ser Rodrik about LF as the two of them are approaching KL.

"He was always clever, even as a boy, but it is one thing to be clever and another to be wise."

It will be interesting to see how his part plays out.

That's interesting... although I find LF an well written character, I also hope for a downfall. In a spectecular way that includes the line "only Cat".somehow :D

I love this series, and feel no awkwardness accepting that I once had a dream that both Wow and DoS were complete and out in stores , which made frontpage headlines obviously ( Man, I felt so happy )

Also I feel obliged to confess that I actually work for a brilliant company that is determined to make this world a better place and sees itself not as a bussiness , but first and foremost a family*

Pretty meh series, but can still be fun. Let's see if I can see it through - I took a break from Malazan after the second book, but still planning to read the rest someday.

Other interests: Doctor Who, TNG era Star Trek, horror, indiepop, whiskey and hoarding Steam games I'll never play.
