The Little Sister
Anyone else notice in Sansa's chapter that there is a noble Tollett family in the Vale? Is Dolorous Edd a noble?
Paxter Redwyne
he is in theory noble but he is from very distant branch and he was raised in poverty on the level of smallfolk. He have only name, nothing else.

He have only name, nothing else. Well, you can argue that Edd is from a legitimated bastard line.
Talking Hodor
He's probably the fifth son of the eighth son of a lordling. Hence the motivation to take the black.
Hos the Hostage
Edd could be from an impoverished branch of the main house, just like Podrick Payne. Pod was caught stealing food, remember. Edd also keeps saying about poverty in his home. Eating rats and him getting the tail due to being the youngest. According to GRRM, Edd took the black because Yoren told him the girls like men in uniform, but Yoren failed(neglected) to mention the abstinence part of the NW oath.
