Yonge and Finch? Outside of commuter/school shift periods, not the most pedestrian oriented place to choose...much more drivers than walkers. Was it just outside the subway exit?

There are so many office buildings there, there’s lots of pedestrians. Especially since it was lunch time and it’s a gorgeous day, 18 and sunny.

Yeah, lunch time makes sense. My gf used to teach at a nearby college, was there every day...for me personally it’s just where i’d get the Go bus or hitch a ride heading north, or walk to play in one of my sports leagues, so very familiar. But travelling as much as I do i’ve gotten used to knowing places where this kind of shit goes down. Walked the Nice street literally the day before that atrocity, for example.

That, said, trying for a glimmer of sustained humanism, as horrible as this tragedy is, the way the police behaved in the arrest is kinda impressive.

Saw the video of the incident a few minutes ago, and I cannot believe that the guy wasn't shot. He is pointing an object (not a gun) at the cop and that officer convinced him to put it down. With words. Amazing.

Honestly, after I saw that video I was sure he wanted a 'death by police officer'.

Picture no. 8 shows the southwest corner of Yonge & Finch, including a Korean restaurant (NakWon) I once went all the time along with the former Crazy Wings right at the corner. My best friend lived across Yonge less than a block away.

I don't even know what to say.

Wow. The picture of the police surrounding the s.o.b. who did this sure seems to show a white guy.

Yeah but it's Canada, they have civilization up there.

Geez, he's been identified as 25 year old Alek Minassian, student at Seneca College.

Possible motive - been rejected by women.

Geez.
