Is Balon Alive

I admit this is a joke thread.  But almost every other character who dies off page has a thread dedicated to the theory that they're still alive.  Balon proclaimed himself king, please come up with your best, or most absurd, theories why Balon is still alive.

Balon used a glamour and is hiding as the Dusky woman

"Balon" hasn't been alive in years. He died during the rebellion. Bloodraven warged him, and has been secretly ruling the Iron Islands for years. However Bloodraven had to warg Coldhands (secretly Rhaegar, he brought his body up there after Robert killed him) and it was just too many corpses to deal with moving around all the time. He didn't want anybody to get to get too close to the body and realise he had been dead for ages, so he just chucked it off the bridge. Problem solved.

Also lemons.

Or Euron made some kind of deal with Balon because he wanted to rule the iron island now, balon knew that euron is the better ruler and they switched places, Euron is king now and Balon took on the disguise of Daario Naharis and made his way to mereen. The real reason why Euron sent Victarion to Mereen to is that he wants Vic to kill Balon/Dario and ruin Vic honor by making him a kinslayer, after all that seems to be the only thing Vic does not want to do

In D&D cannon, this happened halfway through, hence why they randomly switched Daario actors.

I didn't even think of that, now it is crystal clear.

I really could use your expertise on my new showcannontheory "Ned is a facelessman and at the moment impersonating Ser Gregor "the mountain" Clegane"

Love this theory.

There is also textual evidence for it:

Did Ned Stark dress you like that? Was it his pleasure to garb you in velvets and silks and make you his own sweet daughter?

This quote from ACOK reveals he is secretly jealous of Theon´s more feminine dressing, and possibly the moment he conceived of his plan. Notice also how he likes to dress up his daughter in manly clothes, giving her manly work.

Perhaps his dream is to become the wife of either Euron or Victarion. Or queen.

:cool4: This proves that even the weirdest and most disturbing theories can be backed by industrious readers

Any "Balon is alive" theory needs to find some way around the Ghost of High Heart. Which is why I propose that Balon killed tGoHH and is using a glamor to look like her and spread word that he is dead.

Plenty of time between ASoS and AFFC for Balon to fake his death, assume the GoHH identity and make it back to the Iron Islands on time to assume the Dusky woman identity.

In both cases he is dressed as a woman which fits the textual evidence that Beorn Snow pointed out. But I can't help but wonder if there are any other women he could have posed as in the mean time.

Lady Smallwood shares his interest for fine clothing and was in the nearby area at the time.

Yes, he's living in a farm upstate, where he can run and play.

HA, love it!... But you are wrong. See Balon, like his son, Theon, secretly always loved the Starks. So after realizing what he had done, he fakes his own death and made his way up north. Where he is now, with the help of Howland Reed, acting as the Hooden Man, killing Bolton and Frey men. He and Howland Reed, aka the High Septon, they comunicate using Palantir that Euron found in Ashi. All this is done to prep the North for Ned's return at the head of part of the Golden Company, where he has been hiding ever sense his death was faked by Varys.

Little known fact about the Golden Company, their helmets are actually just gilden tin foil.

Impossible! The Hooded Man is not wearing fine women clothes and we know that Balon's endgame is to supplant Dany, ride a dragon to Westeros and become Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and of the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea,Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons
