Robb was unable to the Twins by 'surprise' in AGOT when he almost had 20k who will he do it with 3,500? There is a reason that Walder did not go to meet his guests outside, much to the chagrin of Edmure, the Freys were clearly cautious. My bad, I thought you meant 4000 outside of the Twins. Kaibaman Posted August 16, 2015 Share Posted August 16, 2015 He managed to destroy all of stannis' food siege equipment and hundreds of horses during a blizzard with 20 men without being caught then beat managed to suprising stannis with a cavalry charge to the front the next day. Yeah the showrunners really stretched the idea of suspension of disbelief with that ridiculous scene. Unless Ramsay had a team of magical super ninjas, even modern black op strike forces with today's military technology would have a very hard time pulling something like that off. The foot soldiers didn't know about the real plan, they were told to get ready, not to drink, but they most likely didn't know that they were going to kill their own guys until they got the order. Fake evidence that it were the Lannisters to eliminate a powerful enemy or even the Freys. But with the Boltons they would be 7000 (they at least believe to be loyal to the north) to 4000 Freys. Probably killing Walter too, hoping to start a Frey family war. Or after that killing Bolton go into the Twins. Make a huge scene to get revenge for Roose.
