Sorry! I've been offline for a bit; parents' computer got fried somehow, and of course I was hanging out w/ non-digital people, and being non-digital myself, which was weird.

I was going to suggest 12 Years of Winter, on the theory that Westeros doesn't have Xmas; but these are good. I'm afraid I immediately thought of something cynical, like "12 unfinished novels", or "12 characters mutilated by the showrunners", though luckily the latter doesn't scan.

LOL. Both of those are too long for to fit the melody. I thought of using "7 massive novels" but my oldest advised me to keep all references in-universe. On to more of the song...

On the ninth day of Christmas, George Martin gave to me:
nine missing rangers
eight deadly Sands
Faith of the Seven
six Tyrell cousins
five hanging Freys
four Ironborn
three dragons
two secret Targs
and a one-handed Ser Jaime.

On the tenth day of Christmas, George Martin gave to me:
ten sketchy maesters
nine missing rangers
eight deadly Sands
Faith of the Seven
six Tyrell cousins
five hanging Freys
four Ironborn
three dragons
two secret Targs
and a one-handed Ser Jaime.

Very good. I'd use that if I didn't already have it finished. Though I'm hoping we don't see that many resurrections (wighting aside, I'm sure there have been more than a dozen of those). On to the final verses...

On the eleventh day of Christmas, George Martin gave to me:
eleven grumpy Others
ten sketchy maesters
nine missing rangers
eight deadly Sands
Faith of the Seven
six Tyrell cousins
five hanging Freys
four Ironborn
three dragons
two secret Targs
and a one-handed Ser Jaime.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, George Martin gave to me:
twelve Night's Watch brothers
eleven grump Others
ten sketchy maesters
nine missing rangers
eight deadly Sands
Faith of the Seven
six Tyrell cousins
five hanging Freys
four Ironbron
three dragons
two secret Targs
and a one-handed Ser Jaime.

Away, away, come away with me
Where the folk are wild
And the winds blow free.
Away, away, come away with me
to the La-ands of Always Winter.

Come, come, there's an icy land
for the hopeful heart, and courageous hand.
Come come, beat that frozen band
in the La-ands of Always Winter.

The stars, the stars, oh how bright they shine
cause the daylight's fled, in this world of mine.
The stars, the stars, oh how bright they shine
in the La-ands of Always Winter.

Come, come, there's an icy land
for the hopeful heart, and courageous hand.
Come come, beat that frozen band
in the La-ands of Always Winter.
