If you could ask GRRM any 3 questions related to ASOIAF what would they be?

If you must release one of your own writing techniques, which one would that be?

Has the show GoT disturbed or modified your work on asoiaf in any way?

Did you have any real life person (famous or not) as a physical resemblance base to any of your characters in asoiaf, and if so, which ones?

I seem to recall an SSM stating there is some minor character at the wall loosely based on someone he knows. I can't remember exactly who it was or why though.

Are you not thinking of the bet he had and Ser Patrick of Kings Mountain being the one to get pummelled by Wun Wun?

Yes! I just found the quote. Thank you very much :)

Here it is @King Merrett I Frey

Quote

Phil Simms

In the far North in the fifth book, readers are introduced to a giant named Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun, who goes by Wun Wun. That giant then brutally kills a man named Ser Patrek of King's Mountain, whose sigil is blue five-pointed star on a silver and white field.

Look closer and you can see the whole death as an analogy for Martin's NFL fandom. Say Wun Wun out loud and you'll get "one one," or as it's better known, the number 11. Phil Simms was number 11when he played for the New York Giants in the 80s and 90s. Look, too, at the sigil of Ser Patrek, a silver and blue five-pointed star. That's the logo of the Dallas Cowboys, the Giants' rival.

Martin, a Giants fan, put this fight into the books after he lost a bet with a Cowboys-rooting friend named Patrick St. Dennis, he explained on NPR. "So I invented a character called Ser Patrek of King's Mountain and described his heraldry as looking somewhat like the heraldry of the Dallas Cowboys ... . And then I had him ripped apart by a giant." What a lucky friend.

I'll add a link to the website I got it from because there are some others on there.

- When Waymar Royce is killed, the text say his pupil was shining bright blue. Is it a mistake or a clue?

- We learn from Varamyr's recollections in the prologue of ADwD that to skinchange into another human being is an abomination. Would it still be considered an abomination if the skinchangee gave consent, as in, willing participation?

- Are the NW vows we see in AGoT when Jon and Sam and the others become black brothers exactly as they were originally?

- Why would you not give us updates on book progress, without giving release estimates and promises?
- Why do you get into defense-mode when fans ask for updates, and play the victim?
- How many pages did you write already? How much did you finish? Are you still enjoying the writing process?

The standard go to answer is keep reading.

:bang: I agree. You'd have to be a super clever fox to get the cheese from the tricky crow.

I gotta tell ya I would pay money to watch a fan stand up and ask Martin if Theon has a dick and hear his answer.

I sorta got to ask a "shipping" question (me and Bloodraven), and a penile joke sorta came up, and I sorta rolled with it. It was funny. Alas, it was not a Theon question, though... keep reading :bang:

Glad you were able to speak with him. So, no pre-screened questions or rules of what or what not you could ask?  I gotta tell ya if I was willing to pay to be in a audience I would fake my question and if I was chosen I would ask does Theon have a dick just to see his reaction,

And I would pay just to watch you do that, not even caring about the answer at that point :lmao:

Har! As soon as I asked the question there would be sign language and I would be escorted out. I'm waiting for the day that a person asks the question.Youtube would blow up.
