Will we see any other sample chapter?

Way better than the Alayne chapter.

Probably the best sample chapter.Fans should have chosen this instead of the Arianne chapter years ago.

I was very happy to see a new chapter but disappointed too because this means Winds won't be published soon.

While I am a bit disconcerted about the pace of the story, and disliked the Aeron chapter, I think it is incorrec to say that not a single chapter has moved the story along. The Arya, Sansa, and Theon chapters have moved things along, at least to the extent that discussing Arya, Sansa, or the northern story-line is difficult without reference to the preview chapters.  I do agree that the Arianne chapters and material set in Essos is disappointing.

From what I can tell, ADWD also had about 15% released beforehand, at least in some form.

Plus the chapters given in Winds are mainly from minor POVs (Arianne,Aeron,Victarion,Barristan).

Everyone thought Aeron was disappointing until THIS chapter too... So, the question is, in what way does Arianne start to become interesting to the greater plot - in what way does she bring Dorne into the conflict that her father would currently rather stay out of until he's ready, which he isn't (and now never will be, since Quentyn is no longer alive to marry Dany, Doran's main plan is already dead and he doesn't know it yet)?

I don’t expect another sample chapter of Winds, as I expect a publication announcement for Winds the moment that this season of the HBO adaptation finishes up in a couple weeks.

We should then see a chapter of Dream at the end of Winds, albeit perhaps not till the latter’s paperback release two or three years hence.

I hope so! That'd be great if we get a publication announcement after this season of GoT.

While I do hope you are right, I think you shouldn't hope too much. I think getting a publication date at the end of the year is probably our best bet, if it even comes to that.

Being weary of betrayal, I avoid hope.

November 25th is a possible publication date.  The window for that date, however, closes soon.

Oh, why is that a possible date of publication? :)

It’s a month before Christmas, the day that the Christmas shopping rush begins.

Oh right, I was hoping you had come across some inside information :P

I really don't know what to think anymore.  ADWD was a massive depart from the first four novels in terms of feel and style.  The narrative and locations didn't feel like an ASOIAF novel.

The violence in the first four novels felt gritty and realistic for the main part.  Some of it was ridiculous (Mountain Clans for example) but on a whole it was gritty, low fantasy for the most part and the sadistic characters were believable not only within themselves but the way others reacted to them.

Then Ramsay came along.  A cartoon villain in an unbelievable scenario effectively appealing to torture porn fans.

Up until this point the mainly ridiculous characters had existed beyond the narrow sea.  The Iron Born were a tad ridiculous but just about stayed within the realms of believability even if their culture is very 2D.

Nah. Imo, the Brave Companions were more cartoon than Ramsay.

May be yes, but it all depends of what POV we may see.

I don't believe George will spoil some important things to happen in the samples, so we can exclude some POVs that ended in cliffhangers and there something really important is about to happen in the next chapter. So POVs like Brienne, Arianne, Daenerys, Theon/Asha, Tyrion/Barristan/Victarion and Aeron are less likely be a unedited samples. But, others like Areo Hotah, Sansa, Arya, Davos, Sam and even Bran are more likely, in my opinion.

May be we will get some sample George read in some Con like Barristan, Tyrion or Victarion.
