I have often thought Melisandre would be our contemporary Nissa Nissa. Seppuku with Longclaw, to have the sword explode in flames?

Nissa Nissa was a loved wife, no? So my problem with that; Melisandre isn't someone dear to Jon. I wouldn't call killing Melisandre "sacrifice".

It doesn't have to exactly follow the Nissa Nissa sacrifice ritual. Not everything have to parallel exactly.

Maybe Ghost is just mourning and deeply "dead" inside because his master has just died; just a theory though.

EXACTLY! I think Ghost might be sacrificed

And we see Robb's body (dont know what that is doing with a human head attached) and hopefully one of Roose or Ramsay's flayed body on the bolton sigil that was burning.

Where is Robbs body??

I think Ghost is more likely to be the sacrifice.  Sacrifice, by definition, is a bittersweet parting with something or someone that is intrinsically dear to one, in order to attain some boon.  Since most viewers would probably rejoice to see Melisandre finally depart the scene (particular since burning Shireen), in conjunction with the fact that she lacks a deep bond with Jon, I don't think she's the Nissa.  No-- in order for Jon's resurrection to have maximal impact, and not descend into cheese, it has to be triumphant and heartbreaking simultaneously...and I'm sure D&D will play the audience's heartstrings to the max!  So, that means Ghost will die, and therefore that the first thing Jon will be doing on 'awakening' is mourning his dearest friend, his lost identity, and the price that he has had to pay for life. (As a direwolf lover, I'm already feeling devastated; if they need to save money on CGI, why don't they get rid of a dragon? (those dragons are overrated!)

Yeah, I get you.

Seven would've been so great in the context of the main Westeros religion. The Seven. Whatevers, it's not that important to me. It certainly didn't seem important to the main character we learn this story from, Ned Stark. He keeps the old gods, not the Seven. Just an accident in the books that it's seven against three. Or maybe it's a hint that Ned and his companions were in the right? I don't know. I'm just keeping an open mind.

The tally in the ToJ dream is important in the books because it leads to the same tally of dead people with the reverse anology confrontation between Ned and Jaime...7+3 KG = 10, of which 8 die. It's 3 of Ned's guards against multiple Lannisters and Jaime... 3 of Ned's men die and 5 men die on Lannister side... same dead tally: 8. There are more (reversed) anologies to be made between the KL fight and the ToJ dream that follows. And they're there so that you can derive conclusions from the ToJ dream. It doesn't really matter whether the show alters it to 6 because they didn't have Ned dream it in the show. Instead they'll probably reveal what actually happened with all the answers.

Alternately i thought was Ramsay and Roose on the cross that was plot by by Jon and Mel since displaying them on their own iconic Bolton cross, have them flay, and burning them would be an ultimate comeuppance (one of the greatest karma in the show).

Slight spoilers for the season.

Spoiler

During the Battle of the Bastards between Jon and Ramsay, Ramsay will flay and burn two known characters (to incite fear in Jon's men). Some people think it could be Roose and Walda, others have their own theories.

I'm aware of it. But it was based on speculation as to whether

Spoiler

Ramsay is the one who's doing the deed. It's easy to assume Ramsay due to the Bolton cross, but that doesn't mean 100% that Ramsay is the perpetrator. Jon and Sansa was said to appear at the filming sight. This could either mean Ramsay displayed the burning cross to them or Jon and Sansa watching it as it burns after the battle is over. But who knows.

Just to clarify the issue of the kingsguard armour. The show unlike the books has featured regime specific sigils and patterns on the KG armour to date.If you look at the two iterations on the show, both have Baratheon stag antlers interwoven in the designs on the plackart/breastplate, the second version even more so, aswell as on the slimmed shoulder pauldrons.

So in that respect, having the Targ KG with the three headed dragon on their armour is consistent on that basis, hell even the Baratheon KG armour ranges from gold and white to plain all gold, so all silver isnt a stretch in that context.

However what is a stretch is having the Sword of the Morning wielding two swords, especially if one of those is supposed to be the two handed greatsword Dawn. From my memory only Ser Gregor Clegane has the power to wield a greatsword with one hand, so here is hoping the KG we see in the trailer is Oswell Whent or the White Bull.

TOJ is one of my favourite parts of the series to date, so Iam hoping they don't mess it up with crap like Ned squaring off with or beating Arthur Dayne on his own ala Ned and Jamie season. 1.

From the shot of the flaming flayed man, you can see an army on the other side. It looks as if it has been planted on the front lines, before the battle. Like how the Chinese used to get criminals to run in on the front lines and kill themselves, to freak out their foes. It doesn't look like the battle is over, it looks like it hasn't even begun.

Spoiler

If you look at the footage where it films Ned's battling Arthur Dayne, Howland Reed came up behind Arthur and slit his throat. So i would say it's better than having OP Ned killing off the legendary fighter imo.

I'm very ambivalent with the scene where Arthur Dayne wielding 2 swords. Sound so Hollywood and cheesy, but at the same time, hoping it's going to be decent cuz it said that the producer went to find the best fighter to be cast as Arthur Dayne.
