Kenton Stark
Don't know if this has been discussed before but I had a thought when doing a reread. Are the faces in the weirwood trees the actually faces of the greenseers after they have "Melded " in the roots in the cave. They are not carved, but are transformed into the tree as the greenseer's spirit in absorbed into the weirnet. Any thoughts
kissdbyfire
I don't think so, based on nothing other than having had no mention of this at all 5 books in. But there are some very intersting thing with the faces. For instance, who does this weirwood face reminds you of: "the heart tree had grown so huge " <snip> "Its roots were as thick around as a man's waist, its trunk so wide that the face carved into it looked fat and angry" On a side note, while weirwoods are the preferred type of tree, we know that the wildlings carved faces on different trees.
